Because that is dangerous AND illegal. But If I were driving, say, a 1992 240 SX with a stock engine and auto trans, what would it be comparable to in straight line acceleration? Just name off a few vehicles so I can get a better idea of the performance. Also, if I don't want to swap the motor for a JDS motor, how much of an increase in performance could I expect without tearing into the motor?

Going NA, your probably looking at around 250 tops, just a guess, i havnt done a lot of research on it. I'd be lying if i said i knew a lot about NA, not my cup of tee, im all about forced induction. Check out the NA forum, you should be able to find your answer in there.

well he said without ripping the motor out. I take that to mean just bolt ons so I would guess about 180hp. Complete tune up Header, straight pipe, muffler, air filter, cold air system, electric fans, SAFC etc.

You got it.. Just bolt ons... The curb weight of the car isn't much, so around 200 hp and a decent torque curve would be about all I want in my daily driver.

All my friends went from NA cars to Turbo(I'm close behind them). NA is more responsive off the line, but unless you are going to build an all out racing motor it won't hang with forced induction :)

Drop a 350 motor into the 240 :) There's an idea
