I got a 1997 240 sx kouki has 108 k original mileage. Bone stock other than radio and air intake Clean title, has most original tags on it. Has been In A wreck before but nothing major inside is real nice. sun roof, heat ac all works. I bought the car last year from my friend and he gave me a greddy turbo td06-20g and more but not complete tho. Uncle owns a car lot and him and my dad told me if I sale it they would help me pay for a 07-09 Lexus is 250 . I use to have a is300 but sold it. Should I do the deal?? How much can I sale my 240 for with the turbo. I see people posting real high prices but is it really worth 6k-10k . I bought the 240 for 1500 a little banged up repaired it fresh new paint job.i have invested 3,800 so far. What would you guys do ? I really don't know what to do.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like you got a fair deal. But you won't get your money back, at this point. A turbo in the trunk won't change the price much.

Do you want a lexus, or a 240? I'd think it comes down to that, since it sounds like you can have either.

post sum pics. as for the 3,800 you invested, you probably wont see that money again. but then again some people get away with overcharging for 240's nowadays. depends how clean it is and where exactly yur located. a kouki with 108k miles where i live (in good condition) could get 3-4k.

Because a random guy wanted my tail lights and offered me 200$. Think it was pretty good deal.

.....dude. you can buy a built car for 9k.... why would someone pay that for your turbo-in-the-trunk deal, with the wrong tail lights, no less?

If that's what you expect to get, you'd best start learning to enjoy your 240, cause you're keepin' it.

Just IMO, of course.

Dude I would rather have a stock car than someone else's build. But I well keep it if it doesn't sale. I can get taillights off eBay easily I'm pretty sure no one is going to b**** about it. I like the 240 I just don't have time for it.

It would take some doing, probably, and an original owner.

But I'm not the least bit worried that your car's worth 8k. Not being converted isn't worth that many thousands of dollars.

Like I said, I hope you enjoy the car. It's enjoyable, nothing wrong with it, I would have said keep the 240 anyways. But you're sure not pricing it to go, you can go on craigslist and get a converted 96 with 400whp dyno sheets, for less than you're asking. It's not like the build ends when you get it.

And maybe I'm wrong entirely, observe my username. I mean you no ill-will. It just seems like you're trying to screw the world and turn a nice deal an a nice car, into a really bad deal for someone else, so you can get a nice deal on another car.

How is he screwing the world? He isn't selling a lemon and avertising it as a gem. He isn't forcing someone to buy it. Price it at whatever you want someone will buy it or they won't. I wouldn't sell my shell for 4k that is mostly because I won't sell my car. But a fresh paint, low mile clean interior Kouki will bring decent money. If I had money laying around I would throw an offer your way.

Well, it IS mashed, and repainted to deal with that, as I read him.

Not like used car dealership screwing, don't get me wrong. But it just seems like an inflation of it's value, to me. I'm also biast against s14s, I think most of them are plain ugly, including when stock, kouki or otherwise. Kouki sort of looks like a try-hard facelift to a car that doesn't look sporty in the first place. Of course this is not awlays true, but on most of them.

OP, as for the advice sido of this thread, it just comes down to how much you want luxury and quiet, or sport. You could always buy a bunch of quality sound-deadener, good seats, and quality (adult type) audio. And then you have a reasonably luxurious sports car.
