If you wanna drift, I'd suggest an S13 because it's cheap and easier to find than an S14, and we won't be quite as sad when you smack a guardrail or some other hazard while learning. You might not wanna learn with that much power either.

What kind of suspesion work have you done to the Focus? With that much power, I'm sure it'd be hell on the autocross. There's nothing wrong with a FWD for road purposes really, you're usually gonna get tighter turning abilities from them:) Just not as much fun to really play with though IMO

just wondering

I'd definitely recommend using the S13 being as it's very common and cheap for a beginning drift car though, that way we won't cry as much when it gets banged up:) I think they're a bit lighter as well.

you should've seen this sad sad riced out S14 for sale here recently, saw it in the wal-mart parking lot with shoe polish all over the windows....

Do you think a bright blue front bumper and massive gt-r combat B2 stealth whatever wing go good with a gold car?

I don't....man that thing was sad...

theres a guy here that has the blue-purple color that was only available on s14s for one year (probably because it's purple), and he has a huge grapefruit-sized fart can and 19s on his 240. And he has a sticker that says Speed Image on both rear windows, but someone scratched out the s and d so it says Pee Image. And he's a fruit.

I say you buy a 1989 chevy caprice classic. Nothing says hardcore drifting like one of those beasts. :batman

If you listened to the video you would hear him say that STOCK the s14 is better because the S13 understeers alot. But with decent suspension (specifically Kei Office his own brand) the understeer goes away.

Why would you want to buy such an expensive model 240 when you are using it for drifting comp.? I would go for a 95 or 96 if your dead set on an s14. All personal preference though I suppose. Even track drifted cars can get messed up, especially while learning to drift. Good luck man.

sorry.. don't mean to be an A$$ but since when does some real racing equate to drifting???

yeah, I wondered that too, real racing is all about how fast you can shift and how far down you can put the accellerator!

haha, I mean grip and weight distrobtution as well as following a "line" to find the quickest way through curves and into the pants of the racing queen trophy chick

real racing is also learning how not to spill hot chocolate or coffee on you while making that upshift under hard accelleration in a car with no cupholders.....hey I guess this can double for real drifting too...

Anand, i read his first post and thought the same thing. It's cool u want to get into it, and drifting is very amusing to watch. Although i wouldnt get an S14 for LEARNING how to drift unless i had a nice financial backing, S14s are more expensive and body panels usually sell for a lot more (obviously)...id go with an S13 and beat it up. Best of luck to u whatever u chose:)

Don't you go giving him no ideas to be hurtin' the s13, you s14 folk need to have a few of your babies torn up. We s13 owners see enough casualties as is. :D

I think issani's S14 torn up is more than enough S14 wreckage for me...my friend did something that sounds very similar to what happened to them while driving, and when we went back out in the light a week later to look at the place he wrecked it was pretty bad. the tree caught his passenger fender instead of teh center of the car so little damage was done. But had he gone out of the corner a few feet earlier it would have put him down a HUGE dropoff into a drainage pipe. Kinda freaks me out to see what his car could have easily looked like. Its amazing issani and his friend werent hurt worse.
