ok heres the deal i have a 1989 mk3 supra turbo this guy wants to trade me a 91 s13 coupe for it now usually i would not consider this but the car is pretty straight sanded down has a ka24de auto but knocks or may be a severe timing chain issue and the car comes with a 5 speed swap complete rb20 with what is said to be a fresh rebuild im going to inspect the motor this weekend but am still unsure i know what my car is worth and its decently clean and runs perfect the s13 however has some worn out interior but i am just looking for advise on what to do thank you all.

i know there fun my brother has a rb25 coupe and a sr20 vert and ive been looking for a 240 for a good amount of time now but im wondering am i rushing into this one or will i regret not getting it its hard for me to trade my car which is pretty good for something so rough also my supra is my daily and this "knock" scares me to say the least i couldnt tell if it was timing chain or rod it sound good at idle but at 2000 starts clacking then around 3000 clears up i dont know what to do ive maxed out my abilities as far as drifting on my mk3 due to lack of steering angle and its a damn boat and i really want a 240 but im just not sure lol

hmm...now thats a tough one. i mean if you are tired of the supra and just want to start a new project, then go for it. the 240 would definitely be a cheaper toy though i think

Keep the supra as a DD, and buy a 240 to rebuild. Not having a car to drive while your swapping can be a huge PITA. Getting rides to school/work, getting rides for parts, it just sux hard. Ive been looking at older rx7s for a DD while i eff around with my s14.

good plan. don't rush into one, youll end up with one thats half destroyed and you wont even realize it to start with
