Ok... so i wake up to go to school and my truck (87 HB) starts. I get to school and the day is well. Unfortunantly i go to my truck after school to find that it wont crank. After a few tries it cranks and i go home. When i get home i turn it off and try to turn it back on to no avail. it make a Click........click click click click noise really rapidly after it clicks once. Now the battery is dead although it will still play radio. I can jump it off and itll crank. My question is is it my Alternator? The battery isnt even that old.... I Once had a short but that was do to some fabrication and i cleard that up easily. Please i need some help with this lol.

Yup. And many parts stores will test those parts for free - the battery and alternator.

Would it start after being jumped?

After we jumped it off to start it we turned it off after a couple of minutes. It would NOT start afterward

Could be a dead spot inside the starter, loose connection, corrosion as these guys have said.

sounds like a dead battery, or bad connections. do you have access to a voltmeter? you can check to see if your charging system is working and many other things, like dead batteries or batteries that hate holding charges. peace.

I'll second the dead battery call. Classic symptoms of a battery with a compromised cell. If it is more than 3 years old, replace it. Get one at Costco for about $50
