i swaped in a ka24de into my 90 240. i have everything hooked up except for the o2 sensor and a sensor thats in the airbox(maf is hooked up). that shouldnt prevent it from starting right? i dont know whats wrong, everything is done that i know of. the weird thing is that nothing electrical works. no horn, lights, dash, anything. although the little clock lights up but shows no time and the battery light is on. it cranks, ive tested for lots of stuff, battery is at 12.6v, its getting spark, pretty sure its getting fuel, fuel pump is turning on. thanks for any help.

i found out that the alternator fuse blew...can someone tell me what alternator wires go where? would just that fuse be enough for the car not to start?

I had a similar problem with my KA24e. I blew two $18 fuses before I realized that I had the battery ground wire running to the alternator. The car would start though but the battery wouldn't stay charged. Just make sur eyou do n't have any wire are crossed and all the connectors are cleaned. Other than that it takes a major short to blow a 75 amp fuse. I had a similar problem with nothing electrical working and the clock will only light. I fixedthe alternator wire problem and used fusible link wire in place of my fuse so I woudnl't wast another $18 dollars. If you keep blowing the fuse I would go to you local parts store and pick up some "FUSIBLE LINK WIRE" and some terminals. Other wire won't work since fusible link is designed to burn. Hoep this helps some. Make sur eto make sure your timing is correct since the fuse shouldn't prevent the car from starting
