i swaped in a ka24de into my 90 240. i have everything hooked up except for the o2 sensor and a sensor thats in the airbox(maf is hooked up). that shouldnt prevent it from starting right? i dont know whats wrong, everything is done that i know of. the weird thing is that nothing electrical works. no horn, lights, dash, anything. although the little clock lights up but shows no time and the battery light is on. it cranks, ive tested for lots of stuff, battery is at 12.6v, its getting spark, pretty sure its getting fuel, fuel pump is turning on. i know i posted this in another forum, but i need as many opinions as i can get, ive been without my car for 6months now, i just want it to run. thanks for any help.

Do you have a FSM? You should really check all of the grounds in the engine bay: sounds like you're missing one or two. Also check that on the alternator, you have power, ground, and the two-wire signal connector.

Check all fuses, including those under the dash.

i found out that the alternator fuse blew...can someone tell me what alternator wires go where? would just that fuse be enough for the car not to start?

Well the alternator provides ground for the bulb check relay(though the two-pin plug), but you *should* be able to start without it. However that ground connection also played havoc on my interior lights: some would stay on after the key was out, some wouldn't come on at all.

But anyways, replace the fuse, you'll need to eventually. You'll have to look on the alternator to see where +/- goes: the positive should have a plastic shrowd around it, or be better 'shielded' than the ground.

The two-pin plug is easy.

it almost sounds to me that ecu is not active, I.E. not switching the drivers. and you lost power to the interior too? then that would tell me that you have an open circiut probably a part of the wiring harness that isnt hooked up propery so check your power distribution and be sure, the interior dilemma and the ecu may bay intertwind on one B+ connector hope that helps.

is it the one on the side of the alt. not the back? i have the plug in, and i think i but both wires on the back of it. i think thats what i did wrong and made the fuse blow. which of the two wires is + and which is - they both are black iirc.
