A few weeks ago I tore into my z and did some work. I had the plenum off the lower intake manifold off. Deleted the egr and replaced the knock sensor and sub harness. New injectors. Had the front end all tore down to the crank and ca
Shaft doing a whole 120k timing kit and UR underdrive pulley and accessory pulleys. New seals on everything. All new fuel line and water line and vac line. Plenum coolant delete. I did the works. I also painted almost everhthing. It looks good. It just won't start. It will crank and crank but never fire. Any ideas??? I checked that when the crank pulley mark was at 15 before TDC the number 1 piston was at the top. So timing should be correct? I know I'm getting spark. I just put a new battery in last night but it seems to be turning over slower than before. I'm just out of ideas. Also the exhaust kind of goes thump thump thump and it gets louder if i pump the gas. Could it be wiring? I had a problem in the past where it would start and then bog and die and then not start again till the next day. Maybe a vac leak? I'm going to put my vac leak tester on today and pressurize to check for vac leaks. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.!!! Thanks!

Alright i hooked up the vac leak tester and there is hissing right around the hose at the front that connects the 2 sides of the fuel rail, and it smells like gas. only smells like gas when i pump up the vac system. I had a problem in the past that when i started the car it would start and then bog down and die and then not start until like the next day. Could that have been the fuel regulator? Could it be the fuel regulator now? I think the signs are saying it is possible but the odd thing is, is that it stopped having that problem completely and so i dont know if fuel regulators can slowly go out and thats my problem? I also let it crank for a little and then checked too see if there was gas in the vac line of the regulator and i couldnt see any gas and didnt really smell it so im not sure. Any help would be appreciated!!!! Also when i did the timing belt the sprockets did not capture on the belt under the marks on the back plate, but every line on the belt was lined up perfectly with the mark on the sprocket. I then turned it over once and the marks on the sprockets and back plates where very very close. could timing be off???? i hope not...
