finished up my sr swap, and i ran into an issue.

there are NO BALLS attached to the sr, but it was running fine in another s13 a week ago.

when i mash on the pedal nothing happens, it slowly accelerates, then some back fire, if i lightly press the pedal, no back fire, and slowly accelerates, but still, it feels like its a 1.0 litre engine... and NEVER hits max boost, if any lol.

ive had a few very good minds take a look, and all vacuum lines are properly connected... maybe a leak? where tho. where would the leak be to cause this sort of problem.

Double check all your piping and hoses, whether it be boost or vacuum. Also make sure your wastegate is hooked up properly. If it's stuck open you aren't going to see any boost. You should at least hear the turbo spool and your boost gauge should show boost, so it has to be a leak somewhere.

Hmm, that's odd. How does it run otherwise? If it's a boost leak it would run like crap, which is what it seems to be doing. I bet you have a boost leak somewhere.

Starter fluid, spray your piping and if it surges up....you have a leak! wouldnt recomend shooting the hoses with it, might eat em up.

Or your timing is off, the popping and backfiring is a givaway to that. Turn your CAS and see if that helps.

i'll check it... but im pretty sure the turbo is the main issue. very excessive amounts of blow by[theres even oil in the intake], i dont hear it spooling any more. and the wastegate opens up after the smallest bit of pressure accumulates and doesnt let the car accelerate

OK, then buy a new turbo then.

And if the actuator is opening with no pressure then you might have a blocked up vaccum line too.

the car cannot hold an idle unless i give itgas for a few seconds right after start up, then when i try to drive it, i can put the pedal to he floor and it just doesnt respond.

How hard was this engine run before it was given to you?
