Hey guys,

Here's my plans for my Q45 for the summer:

New knock sensors ($225)New O2 sensors ($250)Re-paint front bumper ($300)Re-seal Valve covers (dunno about cost...what's book time? 6.5?)Remove Throttle Body and clean, clean EGR system, IAC valve, Exhaust Manifolds, and PCV valve (again, not sure but shouldn't be bad as I'll probably do most of this on my own)New thermostat and cooling fan ($70 plus labor)New center console casing and mat ($80)New armrest ($70 plus $$$ to dye it)Refill all fluids, flush trannyEdit:Knock sensor harness ($60)Sparkplugs ($70)TB Gasket ($10)

I think that's it. Anything I've forgotten or anything I should include in this list?

Also, are there any parts I need when resealing the valve covers besides Nissan RTV?

Thanks,

Nick :)

TB to Plenum gasket needs to be replaced if you remove TB to clean it. Less than $10, especially from Joe.

Edit: If your are doing valve covers, you might consider spark plugs if they have 40K+ on them. Knock sensor harness is probably a good idea unless you want to go plenum diving in the future.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t

Where did you get the cost for the knock sensor? Is that for 2, and if so, from where?

That's for 2 and it's an estimate based on Scottsdale's website prices. Rounding usually takes care of shipping for me.

NOW I see "flush transmission" in your list.

Sounds like a good list.

Im going to do a transmission flush this summer. I also read that you have to do a "pan drop" -- what do you gain by doing this and how much does it cost?

I have seen the filter and gaskets on eBay for around $25.00

I would think this is necessary. The experts can tell you, for sure. I plan to have the flush done, and the pan drop, at the same time.

Also, I want my engine CLEAN! :)

I know that idling w/ a quart of ATF right before an oil change helps but any other ideas? I'm not talking about an engine bay cleaning but cleaning the actual engine. Someone had mentioned a decarb treatment. What does that all entail? cost?

Thanks again,

Nick

Nick, get your plugs from Yoshi Sakura. I got 8 for $47.00, and he shipped them in 2 days! He is on eBay. Do a search for the plug part number "NGK Laser Platinum Spark Plugs PFR5G-11"

Thanks Jeff,

Awesome reference. When the time comes he will get my call. (Unless Joe cuts me a deal w/ all the stuff I'm ordering from him) :)

Before you replace the plugs, go out and get some engine decarb (sea foam is ok, but I have heard good things about TOP ENGINE CLEANER, available at any GM dealer, since its a GM product), so that if you foul them, you will be fouling the ones you are going to replace anyway..........
