What you're saying doesn't really make sense. You can put it in gear when the car is off, but not when it's on? If it was the pedal or cable, you wouldn't be able to put it in gear period, much less when you turn it off. I don't know of any electronic device attached that would prevent anything from engaging. Any weird smells, noises, e.t.c.? Driving habits?Chrispd100 wrote:If i turn the car off and put it into gear (while its not running) and then start it, it pulls the car. The clutch is fine on the car. Brand new clutch. But for some reason it will not go into gear. The pedal or the level that disengages the clutch does not work... I need to know how to fix this.
sounds like a throwout bearing not sure what they call them lately......i'm pretty sure you have a hydraulic clutch and can bet it is a simple adjustment @ the dealership......all i got.Chrispd100 wrote:If i turn the car off and put it into gear (while its not running) and then start it, it pulls the car. Any manual I've ever driven will pretty much lock you out of 1st once you get moving. Imagine if you hit 1st instead of 3rd, the results would be much more dramatic than a 5-3 miss. You need to be at full stop to get it back in. The Versa is geared so that even if your creeping, 2nd is ok to start accelerating.viet510racer wrote:speaking of this, for my 6 speed it some times locks me out of 1st and only 1st gear when im in second and i try to shift back to 1st because im almost at a complete stop it locks me out so i cannot put it in 1st. is that normal??
Sounds like master cylinder or slave cylinder has gone out....try pumping the clutch pedal and see if it helps and last I would think the clutch but if it happened that quick I would guess that something in the Hydraulic system has gone out.Chrispd100 wrote:OK so last night after a fairly short trip to a friends I came home and parked my Versa. Then 2 mins later got back in it to re-park it and it would not fall into any gears. I have the 6 speed manual. and with the clutch pushed in as far as it will go nothing will happen. It will not let me put it into any gear at all. If i leave it in gear and then try to start the car it just pulls the car in what ever gear its in. Can someone help me with this?
as useless as we are two of us got it right.......so next time maybe use your words wisely...what a joke.Chrispd100 wrote:OK i figured out what the problem was.... Some how air got into the lines and it just needed to be bleed.... not to be mean or anything but you lot were completely useless.... thanks anyways
I don't think you can call people useless when you did ask them for help. If you come on here w/ a question and are panicked and ask for help, then you should be willing to accept others opinions of what the problem could be. Everyone who replied was just trying to help you out.Chrispd100 wrote:OK i figured out what the problem was....
