ok so ive been using my Ca car for work the last three days.. driving it close to if not around 100miles each night ! well it seems that the boost isnt as potent, as if its getting weaker, i havent even pushed the motor all out yet, maybe gett on it every once in awhile, but nothing substancial. well tonight i was leaving work and as soon as my boost hit 5-6psi the car started choking an sputtering, the temp just went from 50 to like 20 outside, i thought th ECU was fuel cutting but at such low boost it shouldnt be! and also ive noticed the last few days boost would be pegged at 10 pounds when pushing it no more then 10, but then a few days after driving it the boost would bleed off once it got to 10 and would continue to drop to aroud 7 even holding WOT and accellerating it was bleeding off ! i could and prob have a boost leak, but i think the turbo is about to die or the waste gate isnt working properly ! tonight the boost was going to 11or 12, i dont have a controler so it stock boost! what do you guys think.. im taking the car back to my garage this afternoon to prepare for the turbo upgrade. and computer upgrade.. but im worried ill still have problems with it, and all the work will be so i can just spend more time warming my *** by the stove, starring at it whille breathing profannitys at it

ok tonight i have to fill coolant it was low again, fearing burnt head gasket... but exhaust doesnt smell sweet car is running fine other then boost problems, coolant isnt bubbling or what ever with cap off warmed up. no oil in coolant or vice versus.. so the head gasket doesnt look bad, monday ill break down and compression test the motor, somthing ive been dreading to do but i guess i should know the results ! and ill do a coolant system pressure check also to make sure.. i plan on the turbo change also monday and rerouting my boost gauge and BOV with "vacum hose" i hope it fixes some problemns !

anyone have a suggestion or imput please help me out here !! Thanks, Jon

CA's hate Ohio.... that is all there is to it.

To me Jon, sounds like a classic case of a boost leak.

Thought I saw something on a DSM board about building a pressure tester. Basically its a bike pump with the end cut off and a new connector put on. Then you put it into a vacuum port and pump away. Then you can listen for the leaks. May be something worth looking into.
