well actually 3, but 34 for knock sensor dosent come on anymore guess it fixed it self???

i got a code 11, for crank angle sensorand a code 45 for fuel leak @ injectors....

can 45 be fixed with just a set of O-rings? i dont smell or see any fuel on motor

and as for the crank angle sensor, how do i approach this>?>???

Your questions lack context, please use more of them detail things so I can better understand where your coming from.

whats a code for crank angle sensor mean is wrong? what kinda problem am i looking @?

and the fuel injector code, says it applies to Cali models only thats weird

ist like a O-Ring leak? or a actual injector leak?

anything that causes a rich condition can set an injector leak code--too high of fuel pressure, o2 sensor, afm etc....

i dnt mind the running rich, but as long as i know there isnt an actual LEAK im alrightim in need of a new knock sensor apparently, and EGR

but for some reason, my CEL constantly flashes

I also have the 45 code, injector leak, usually happened on long trips with elevation changes, but lately it stays on.. have swapped fuel rail with a spare, then a new bosch universal 02 which both seemed to help for a week or so, but the code comes back, car ran great after swapping the o2 sensor, i got alot of top end power, and over half throttle power that i was missing, but code came back after a few weeks.

I just wanted to confirm that the rich condition causes this code.. If so then the only thing i can do is check the fuel pressure, but that means that both fuel rails had a bad regulator, or bad injectors. or i could have bought a faulty o2 sensor... I guess i could also swap out the maf with another i have.. any other ideas? injector wires? thanks

a vacuum leak or the FPR not getting vacuum can set it to run higher PSI, I've never heard of that setting off that code, but hey it adds more fuel giving a rich condition.......

your ECU uses a few things to adjust its timing and duration of fuel:

I'd check them all

Crank Angle SensorMAFEngine TempTPSO2 sensor

thats basically it, if I forgot one chime in

thanks i appreciate it..

I ohm'd out the tps it seemed to give good varying resistance through the rangenew o2 sensorI have cleaned out the maf sensor trying to find that missing top end power, but i will swap it out with a spare to be sureengine temp checked the right voltage for cold and hot conditionscan't remember if i checked the crank angle sensor, but do you think advancing the base timing could help?is there any way the fuel pump could over pressurize or something? maybe a return line could be kinked.. damn just thought of that, maybe i should check that, not sure how it could happen, but...

I don't have a fuel pressure gauge so i was trying to save myself the money on buying one of those too, the lines are pretty old and without pulling the intake i can't really check all the vacuum lines back there, i did find one blown line on the egr pot, so do you think i could just run a vacuum line directly from the fpr, to the nipple coming off the intake down near the brake booster vac line just to isolate it from any other leaks?

id rather run rich then lean though

i checked MAFmy EGR is also going off, it dosent bother me too much, a bit more fuel never hurt anyone

except ppl behind me

well you may not mind the de-tune that the ecu does to your car with any code you get, but if you want the most power you can get it's best to get rid of them.. as for the egr going off, it is probably clogged lines, or corroded vacuum lines or both, you could either take it all off and clean it, or do what i did, and plug a resistor into the exhaust temp sensor harness plug.. have to look at the fsm to see what resistance cause i can't remember, but i haven't had a problem with mine since.

also had the knock sensor problem like you had, it came and went, i checked the line and it ohm'ed out ok, i wiggled the connectors on each end and it still checked out ok, so after spending a heap of money on a new knock sensor, and that not working, and some head scratching, i just ran a whole new wire from ecu to knock sensor subharness (that short wire running from the knock sensor to the front of the motor) and that fixed it.. the old wire broke somewhere in the middle of the engine harness and it was much easer just to run a new line then try to find the break and repair it.

The motor can't gauge wether or not the injectors are leaking out (out meaning outside the engine). "Leaking injectors" leak fuel into the engine causing a rich running condition. If it truly is a leaking injector, they will leak fuel into the cylinder when you shut the motor off until the pressure drains from the rail. Resulting in a flooded cylinder, poor starting, poor initial running after start-up, etc......

well i have no trouble starting, and runs fine after startup.. so i suppose that the injectors are not to blame, and that at least rules that out (thanks) however i wasn't sure if there was another way for the ecu to tell of a "leaking injector".. i didn't see it anywhere, but thought there might be a fuel pressure sensor or something, which if it read low pressure it would mistake it for leaking injectors.. that's why i wanted to confirm that the o2 sensor was the only way the ecu could come up with a "leak"

I'm not sure which way without looking it up, but i believe like Fla240sx said, that with no vacuum on the presure regulator it runs at peak pressure.. which would give more fuel per injector pulse, which would cause it to run rich. or a kink in the fuel return line would increase pressure and cause the same thing.

intake leak would cause it to run more lean so I think that rules it out, engine temp I think would give a code on it's own, and without a code i don't think it will richen the fuel mixture. If the maf is reading wrong it could misread the amount of air coming in and throw off the fuel mixture causing the rich condition.. not sure how the crank angle sensor would affect the fuel without thinking about it.. but that's all i can try for now.

I appreciate all the help.

well my CEL comes and goes as it pleases, im getting pretty bad gas mileage, but, i dont feel any power loss usually

randomly though, ill feel a very large power loss, and starting the car usually rids of it, and the car is running very rich and popping and backfiring when i double tap the gas, hence, running extra fuel, where the fuel inject leak comes into play.

as long as the EGR is not robbing me of power, i could care less about smogsame with the inject leak, thats my only concern...

i dont know where to begin searching for a vac leak too
