I have an 08 jetta 2.5 and it is freaking going nuts. The key fob doesnt always lock the doors (and one door never locks, but the alarm goes off when you open it) and when your inside the car and press the unlock button it makes a noise... but nothing happens

Its just the locks, nothing else acts funny. Any help?

VeeDubs are known for epic wiring issues. Not exactly sure where to tell you to start, though.

My dad's old '96 VW Cabrio had every single bug that you are describing. Long story short, we decided that VW/Audi are pieces of excrement and sold it. I wish I had some useful information for you, but all I can tell you is I hate VW for this reason. Why, after 12 years, are the same problems still occurring in their vehicles. Good luck with the issue. If you can't get it resolved here, check out VWvortex.com (am I allowed to say that?).

Well sounds like the door lock actuator for the door that never locks is dead. Other than that, I don't really know. You're sure the key fob batteries are good? (Totally spitballing at this point)

Im not sure about the key battery, ill check it today. But even if the key battery is down the lock buttons on the inside should still work, right? I have the switchblade key, not the push to start

Yeah, the lock buttons on the inside should work. So wait, it just doesn't lock/ unlock any door with the inside lock button? Yeah, that's definitely wiring or the alarm system. Way outta my league.
