Here's the story. My SR is swapped in, trans, fluids and wiring done (well my wiring must be $#!tty) and i know that cuz i get no spark off the spark plugs. I mean i get fuel (all over buddy's face) and she cranks, but no spark. Now I had to splice the SR wiring clip onto the nerve cord that was cut near the firewall before I ever got it. This meant creating a new hybrid KA/SR harness. I left all of the wires from the fuse block to the old KA locations and my signals, head lights work, all that noise. I figure my problem lies in the wiring of the igniter chip and/or the coil packs, right? i mean i'm not getting spark from the plugs and my dash ignition works. Any ideas or suggestions to you who know SR's well? I think I have a CA18det igniter chip??!? hmmm... but it's wired in properly. :help

CAS wiring or ignition chip wiring could play a big part. Also coil pack wiring. Im pretty sure the parts work just fine, its probably human error somewhere else.

I'll try that stuff today. Would grounds being ran together and connected be a problem? I looked at the SR20det ECU wiring diagram and it looks as though they are done this way...

Ok. My buddy sho works at Nissan in a nearby city came and helped a bit. Here's what I know:Coil packs are getting power and ground. That means the igniter chip wiring is ok (i think), since coils are getting voltage. I'm quite certain that the CAS wires are properly done. The injectors are not shooting fuel. When i took the coil pack and spark plug out... no spark, and i can't smell fuel coming through... i'm looking into this issue. I don't think they are functioning properly right now.The other thing is the coil pack wire that gives the signal to all 4 coils may not have been wired correctly... 5 wires out of the coil pack clip. 4 wires to the igniter chip are proper, but the 5th wire is what i think is the signal wire.Does anyone know what ECU pinout corresponds to the coil pack signal wire??? Anyone plz help and thanks in advance.:( :help

I think my igniter chip may be wrong... I was looking at pictures of other people's and mines bigger... also a different model number than the recommended Q45 igniter. I triple checked all of my CAS, and coil pack wirings... I also looked at the schematic and it shows that ECCS power is supposed to hook up to the ba$tard wire off of the coils. I will post pics to see what y'all think of my igniter chip tomorrow when i get em, maybe i will have to replace...

try checking the wiring of your cam angle sensor my buddies was wired wrong and we couldn't get spark until we switched 2 wires around.
