Im not here to rip on hondas, but my integra made my weekend suck. So thursday night on my way home from work the battery light comes on. So my first thought is alternator because battery is only 6 months old. Well next day i do the alternator it wasn't a fun job. Had to take out axel to get to it. Well i get it back together after a couple hours, and it runs fine. Yea i got it fixed. Go out friday night, cars running fine. Go to work on sat, but i woke up late so i was going about 90 on express way. Come home from work, pick up girlfriend, go to eat. After we eat, get in the car, back out of the spot. Put car in gear, pull forward 1 foot, and boom, front left end collapses. I imediatly try to back up into spot. Doesn't work, and fender is ontop of tire. So i call my friends, we cant push it. And looking from other side i see my axel broke, so i cant drive it. So i call a tow truck. I finally get the car back to my house around 11, watch a movie with my girl go to bed. Next day i jack up the car, looking to see the lower ball joint broke, and the axel snapped like a twig. Luckily autozone had all the parts i need for only 110 dollars. Not bad for an axel, and ball joint. Got it all back together, i think i need an alighment, but besides that appears to be find. But it also appeared to be fine after i did alternator. Im just waiting for the other side to break now. So my expenses for this weekend were Alt 200ball joint 35axel 60tow 65So now i just spent almost 400 dollars on my beater. o well it coulda been alot worse. I know it coulda happend to any car, but i just needed to vent. Later guys

Sorry to hear your bad news, you spent more on your alternator than I did on my whole beater/winter car! $150 for it, thats it!

Could have been the celenoid on the alternator. My battery light was on in my 240sx with the KA motor for a few months, never effected anything though. I wouldnt have went right out and changed the alternator. But oh well, better luck to ya.

Yeah, my cars sure as hell doesn't. Or going to school for that matter. That sux though man, there aren't many things that are more annoying than something wrong with your car, even minor problems are annoying and loom over my head until I fix them. Glad its done with though.

yup, very annoying. Im just glad it wasn't my 240 that broke...... that wouldn't of been good. Part that pisses me off the most is that i had to have it towed. wish it coulda broke at my house. o well **** happens, then you fix it. Better than paying some guy hundreds of dollars and going days without a car.

I know what you mean, I've saved myself well over what my 240sx's worth just by doing the labor myself, and that towing thing sux too, I wish it would've broken at your house too, hey at least it didn't break when you were on the highway or some **** right? :)

And since you've been driving the car as your beater, you would know what symptoms the car has been having. My sisters boyfriend dirves an Integra, and his alternator quit today. Funny thing is that his battery light came on, but because he's been driving the car, he knew that the symptoms the car was having led him to the alternator, not the battery.

Don't be so quick to spread your bitterness and jump on others.
