Ok... so i picked up a go cart frame a little while ago. Im finaly getting around to planning this little Project. Im going to use a 4 cylinder motor from a street bike but im not sure what kind. Im leaning towards a gsxr but ill use anythign i can find cheap just in case this doesnt work out to well. I have lots of plans for it but ill get pics of the basic frame up soon. Any of you guys (yeah... the 3 that come in here) have an extra motor laying around u wanna sell?+

What you need is the V-6 from a Honda Valkyrie. It's small, and it will be easier to adapt to a go-kart than a car engine would. Or the new 572 cid Hemi crate motor. Makes over 1000 hp N/A. Stick that on your little kart. And make sure you bring a spatula.

Lol guys... im not going for crazy frame modification. It needs to be chain driven. It needs to fit in the space i have right now because if i have to extend the frame too much i might throw off the weight balance and if i get too much weight in the rear... the 140+ hp and the ~300 lbs might have a little problem keeping the front tires on the ground . So... if you guys can find me a good GSXR or 4 cyl bike motor with electronics (important) let me know!

Check ebay, there was a Yamaha XJ650 motor (complete) on there last week. Something like that will cost you as much to ship as it will to win. Should be an easy 65-75hp.

you know what...I think I am insane...I have posted this three times, but it only shows up after I post...all of them do. Then when I go to another forum and come back...they are all gone. So here it goes again...Yeah, get a carbed bike. Bike carbs are easy and cheap to repair.

ive got my old go-cart frame back. used to have a 5hp briggs on it running 100LL/Jet-A mix. It would run 50 easy but ended up blowing up. Now im looking for a 100cc 4stroke(probley from a Honda 100XR) dirtbike motor to use on it. Or maybe a 80cc 2stroke. Damn thing should be fun then

I have a 500 two stroke--in a bike. That thing is insane. So...much...power... I was trying to teach a friend of mine to ride on my smaller 250. He wanted the "big bike." You shoulda seen him on it. Funniest damn thing I have ever seen. Now he's afraid of it.

I'd say Honda. My XR 500 has INSANE amounts of low end torque, and a good power/torque curve. I can be cruising at 35 in 3rd gear and effortlessly bring the front wheel up. Scary as hell....but fun! My 250 is a Yamaha and it has absolutely NO low end torque. But its a 250, and I'm not sure if that is true of their 500. The might only make a 650....not sure but I think they skip over 500.

---EDIT: I'm a dumbass. Mine 500's a 4-stroke. The 250 is a 2-stroke. That's why the 500 has such a good power curve. But then, with a 4-stroke, you don't have to mix the gas. Of course, on my Yamaha 250 you don't either--it mixes the oil and gas itself.

yeah most of the newer 2 stroke bikes do that...

usually the 2 stroke have a lot of lowend too though...

the 4 stroke would smell better while driving it however

Stop smoking crack. Suzuki is the only way to go. When ever you have a company that used it's 750 in the AMA for several years against the other guys liter bikes, and smoked them, you know you are getting the goods.

I will admit, that at least Honda unlike Yamaha and Kawasaki, at least have a couple good V-Twin sport bikes. I love V-Twins. Had the SV and TL-S. But I love to hear a Honda VTR1000. A good, agressive sounding bike. One thing about Suzuki, they never could get their V-Twin platform up to race standards. Beats the hell out of the Harley Davidson race bike, VR1000.

Okay, I think I got a little off track from go-karts.
