I like how that mani is tucked in, never seen that design befor, would the unequal length runners adversely effect the sweet RB exhaust note ya think ?

Bro take a look at the stock manifold.

NICE!!!If you can make those and sell them I'm sure guys would pick them up.

Because so far you have SSautocrap and Full Race.Complete opposite sides of the spectrum. lol

I like the design and it looks robust, but my only questions are: Is there enough room to get a wrench on the bottom nut for runners 2-5? How large of a compressor can you fit on there before there's interference with the valve cover? Is there going to be a flange for an external gate?

And yes, if full-race would get off their high horse and make a manifold for the masses, maybe they'd make some money on the deal. Otherwise, I think it would be very lucrative if you could make a decent manifold at a price that is lower than the cost of a motorset.

Since this one is a prototype we had to use a smaller nut so you can wrench on it at that part. Yes external gate, He is going to try and make it so that you can use a huge Compressor on it. He has a few Test Turbo shells around that he will use for the fitting. The Reason why it's so tight against the block is because the builder thought that there wasn't alot of room. He is use to make manifolds for FWD cars lol.http://www.3rdgearvtec.net/Pro...).JPGh ... ro...).JPG

I'm not the one making it so I'm not 100% sure. Will have to see the final product when he gets done but more than likely it's not a on off.

If he can get the bugs worked out of this manifold by next January, I will be in the market for one if it costs less than $1000 and I can fit a GT35R or maybe bigger at this point .

I do think it's good to keep the manifold close to the head simply because of the weight of a large turbo and the moment that it creates at the flange welds. That SR20 manifold looks pretty sweet!

The heat that the turbo makes won't warp the flange it will take the weight of the turbo. He purges the runners when he welds them .

awww hate to be a d!ck but you arent a sponsor of the forum

this can be circumvented if you can talk them into a free manifold for a professionally licensed drifter who will be driving at 2 pro events this summer that just happens to be a moderator on nico.

(just kidding, looks awesome keep us posted)

I wonder what us RB guys are gonna want next after we get 20 different turbo manifolds floating around in the market place?

(dry sump kits!)

I wouldn't mind one of those lol. I'll try to get some pics up asap. My other car just took a crap on me this weekend and I might have to change the motor damn SR20VE's aren't too cheap.

Manifold is getting coated, have to fab up the O2 housing to meet the Mckinney downpipe, do intercooler piping, buy Lightning maf, get Nistune bla bla bla but the big part is almost done.

That looks great! About time you got it finished

Is the WG dump going to enter the downpipe from the bottom or are you going to run a screamer pipe?? I can't really envision it from the pics.

Is the interior of each runner coated as well? If so, major kickas$.

Evan

BTW, is that an illusion or is the turbo flange not flat?

it's the angle I took the pics from. He keeps stuff from warping when he welds the manifolds together.
