Hey guys,I just finished my sr swap and noticed that my max boost is only 0.3 bar. I have checked for piping leaks via propane and have found none. I have my boost gauge hooked up to the vaccum that is for the carbon canister, nothing else tapped from that line. The Turbos wastegate vaccum is tapped from the fpr. Im running full 3in with no cat. What could be my errors? thanks!

Hook it up to a different vaccum port and see what happens.

Hook the wastegate up somewhere on the cold pipe. Boost gauge off the tb. Check for a loose BOV if you have one.

I hooked the vacuum via the web page and what i had wrong was the wastegate i had it hooked from the throttle body, so i undid that and hook it from the intake nipple to the wastegate. I also capped off the lower vacuum source from the throttle body and teed off my boost gauge from the fpr. Problem is now my car is boosting around 1.1bar sure its fast..but ive only got the stock smic. I also added my blitz dd bov to the intake piping and hooked that up too the upper right vacuum line. Im wondering why am i boosting so high? Yes i am running a bov with the stock smic bov. Is this why i am boosting 1.1bar?

Your wastegate sounds stuck (aka broken). Have someone rev the engine high enough to engage the wastegate, if it doesnt open up you may have problems. Those other mods should not significantly effect the boost to that degree.

1.1 bar is a high, but you'll be fine with stock smic and stock bypass valve.

Are you positive ill be fine? From what ive read on the forums its not good to boost past 10psi on the stock smic. Also i dont get any boost just reving the engine while its not in gear..

It shouldnt be broken. Before when i had the vacuum hooked up wrong i was only boosting 0.03bar so the wastegate should have opened? I have the wastegate hooked up to the aircleaner nipple is that correct?

That's just hearsay. I do constant 14 psi on my stock smic and bypass valve for the past 3 yrs and you don't see me complaining.

The air cleaner nipple is supposed to be capped off. The hole one the cold pipe is where the wastegate should be tapped off of.

ive always read that the smic shouldnt go past 12, but you guys can do what u want on ur motors, and in neutral, reverse, and 1st gear, full boost isnt available, its controlled.

How is it controlled?

Maybe from the factory with that boost solenoid stuff that is on the ignitor block, but with the way most of us do our swaps, it's not controlled. The ECU in NO WAY controls boost on the redtops/blacktops, and I'm pretty sure the same goes for the S14/S15
