Hi everyone. I'm new to the RWD and Nissan scene. I have always loved S14s and drifting culture. This is my 3rd car and I am not a virgin to "modding" cars. I previously owned a Toyota Corolla XRS which I totaled, then a Mazda3 which I traded straight up for my 1996 240sx SE. The car is simply clean. The paint is pretty nice, and the interior is immaculate. The only dents are two on the roof from where the previous owner installed a roof rack (They seem like they can be popped out easily though). Only things that are done to the car is megan lowering springs, tein tension rods, and 99-04 mustang GT wheels. It's a 100% stock KA right now with an automatic transmission. 207k original miles and it's got the scars to prove it. Rear main seal leak, front crank leak, oil pan leak, timing cover leak, oil sender leak... The list goes on.

Since then I've done minor things to make it how I would like it for the time being. Painted the lip the color it's supposed to be, took off the stickers, put in my radio, took off the antenna, cleaned the car up real nicely.

I'm pretty damn happy with it now besides one thing.. The transmission. I have an undying, perpetual hatred for automatic transmissions. My past two cars were both manuals. When I was in the process of getting the car, I sourced a transmission, and the parts for a 5spd swap. I'm going to be doing the swap this weekend with my Dad. I'm also throwing in an s14 welded diff that I got from my buddy. My Dad has some extensive knowledge with cars and has a lift, transmission jack, impact wrench, etc. But anyways, onto the future plans of the car. Bear in mind these things are subject to change. Since the KA is so very leaky and seems to be on it's last leg, I've decided an SR is in the near future. I found an S14 notchtop SR20 locally with a T28, and a few other goodies. I'm hoping to have the money for the engine sometime in December-January. After the SR swap, I'm going to be working on the aesthetics of the car. I can't promise you guys that this car won't turn into a slammered drift car, but I am honestly trying my best to keep the car in the pristine condition that it is in. I've been browsing around and am going to get Powered By Max coilovers and the ISIS suspension arm package. After that, GR wheel with a quick release and hub, kouki tails and glass headlights(I'm so original right?). The headlights are so screwed right now. The mount on the pass. side is broken so it looks crooked. Anyways, stay tuned for this build. I hope you guys are as excited as I am!
I'll post pictures tomorrow after work! I can't figure out how to make the pictures work so if anyone can shed light, that'd be great lol.

Just an update:
Today I'm going to go pick up a pilot bushing and throw out bearing from a friend that works at O'Reilly's, then going to pick up a gasket from Nissan since I have an exhaust leak where the header meets the downpipe. Also considering buying a new OEM flywheel for the swap. I have a used one thats sorta rusted from a friend. The cheapest a place will resurface it is 40$ and I could get a new one for 95$. What would you guys do?

Also, I have a few interior shots! I haven't cleaned it up lately.

Interior is 10/10 (in my opinion). No cracks on the dash, no burns in the seats, every piece is there and is in very nice condition. No stains, no scratches. Needless to say I'm extremely happy. The only real thing is the steering wheel which shows signs of wear and tear but that's no worry since I'm replacing it anyways.

Today, I went by Nissan and got my exhaust gasket to fix the annoying exhaust leak. It sputters at low RPM's because the exhaust gas isn't getting to the O2 sensor or something I'm guessing. I'll be doing the gasket tomorrow after work. I also went and got a throwout bearing and pilot bushing from O'Reilly's. My buddy Steven hooked me up since he works at O'Reilly's and he got me a Rain-X headlight restore kit for like 5 bucks. I used the Rain-X kit and the difference is amazing. It took about an hour for both headlights. Cleaning, sanding pads 1, 2, and 3, then the buffing and cleaning. I was planning on buying glass headlights but now, there's no need since my headlights look brand new. They're actually clearer than my corner lights. Use the pictures in my first post as reference to see how the headlights looked before. Just look at the difference now!

The passenger side headlight mount is still broken, so I'm going to be picking up a new one soon!
Thanks again Hoffman!
I also swung back by O'Reilly's after work to grab a Wink mirror panel. I've always loved them and people said they're pretty good for seeing out of your blind spots. Install was pretty easy and straightforward. Took me about 10-20 minutes or so. I'm very happy with the result.

Well, I went to go do the 5 speed swap this weekend. Got home and realized some guy sold me a brake pedal and said it was a clutch pedal (I had no way of knowing which was which). So, I had to drive over 100 miles to get a pedal then came back home. I got a few things prepped for the next day (saturday). This morning, I woke up with my buddy Gage and went out to start the swap. Everything went pretty well but we're only 80% done. I'm gonna finish the rest tomorrow. The only problem is that the D/S I have fits weird.. I'm also missing a bolt for the starter. I'll get it figured out tomorrow I'm sure. All I have to do is bolt on the driveshaft, drain both the diff and trans, put in 4 bolts, then wire it all up.

I'll post pictures soon and keep updating even though nobody seems interested in the build at this point xP

Wee update:
The 5 speed has been doing great. Only think I need to fine tune is the clutch pedal and make it tighter. When I clutch kick, I think my clutch burns itself a tad and for about 20 min after I clutch kick, the clutch just slips in 3rd, 4th and 5th. Is this because my clutch adj is too far out or maybe because I'm using a pre-used clutch? I know I shouldn't have done that but I'm swapping it soon. Drifting is very fun is this car. Very. I love it haha. My rear tires went from 70% tread to about 30% in the past week and a half. By far though, rain drifting is my favorite because I just give it gas and it'll come around instead of having to clutch kick. Should be getting some kouki tails from a friend soon. Then I'm saving up for my coilovers.

I feel like the lame kid on the block with a boring build... Maybe I'm just updating too much. Thoughts?
