Good work on the car. 600 hp will be impressive to see.

The body style reminds me of a fox body Mustang.

Thanks fellas! The 600hp figure is about where one needs to stop or the little CA is going to be a costly headache. And unless you just want bragging rights, there's no real need to go further unless you like trying to find a gearbox that can handle more power. Some of you guys have a little more enthusiasm than I do at this time, so take some lessons from the more knowledgeable folks on our forum, especially float_6969 and themadscientist and that will save you the headaches as well. Remember, if you don't spend the money needed to achieve your big goals, you should stay in your lane or you will have a bad accident. Honestly guys, 600whp out of the CA18DET in either an S12, B12, S13 or KN13 chasis is just ridiculous. And for the novice driver in the RWD variants, you will kill someone or get yourselves killed; trust me on this one. Anything more is just a dyno queen or a stupid burn-out machine and hopefully that's not what you are wasting money on. My CA powered coupe has cold A/C, P/S and 536 ponies stomping on the ground at my disposal. Honestly, I'm scared of the car which is why I just drive around the block to keep the battery charged and the oil circulating. Sideways, take notes and get that newly built engine in your car. Engine management and turbo selection is key ;) . Good luck and holla if you need me.

Wowie dee, that is nuts man. Maybe someday I can have the scratch to pickup one of your projects when u retire, I prolly wont get rid of my pulsar but I wouldn't mind a nuts-tastic 240sx :) (or sentra.. haha)

good luck and sic re-buildup

I am def taking notes 600hp is not where I want to be. I'm saving a big number like that for my v8 swap. I'm looking more in the range of 450. I'm sure with how light my chassis is there won't be to many cars here in vegas that will be able to hang with me.

Quick question. Do you feel the RS5F50C is capable of holding that power on a regular basis? Is your drivetrain stock or have you had something special done to it like shotpeening and/or cryo-treating the inter components?

It is capable of holding a large percentage of the power level I've targeted, but it will not be wise to try it with a failing gearbox or you will make a mess of things. My gearboxes are modified maxima & pulsar units that use custom axles. The gears and shift forks are not cryo'd as they have proven to be strong enough without any further processing. My modified gearboxes have new nomenclatures: RS5F50V(CH) for custom hybrid.

Real nice end result, sucks about the chassis rot though... I miss my CA like crazy sometimes... I've seen (and been tempted to buy) a couple B12s up here in MA since I moved here, but I am still more of a rwd fan. Maybe I'll get back in a nissan again one of these days... Glad to see this section of NiCO still alive!
