It can't be the spark plugs making the car misfire/backfire.My teacher awhile back said something about the cold crack idler?or something like that?any idea it's making me mad how it does that.thanks.

Either a spark plug, bad coil pack (Extremly rare for this Q45) or an injector.

From what I have heard I think its an injector.

And of course there is always othere reasons a car would backfire, But read the FSM and determine if the backfire is from the exhaust or the intake.

Yea, If you have another car or mode of transportation you can renew everthing under the plenum which is about $1000+ in parts.

Or you can just install the injector in one day.

99.9999% of Q45's have problems like Q45tech said, So by selling it your only most likely walking into another problem down the line.

I say fixe the injector now then fix the restl later.

I think I said $85 shipped.

Most Q are destroyed by incompentent owners and mechanics.............this may include Generic auto shop teachers only because they haven't spent a week [40 hours] reading FSM to understand the minor difference in Q technology from domestics and even Toyota/Lexus of that era.

Expert techs who work on your model and year can just touch the body and get a metaphysical diagnosis.......................why waste time and chance creating addition problems.

An engines an engine and trust me he knows about the car. When i first mention about my lifter i didn't even know it had a hydraulic one until he told me.The only difference is all the electrical stuff. When i say not leave my car there i mean it by saying i only get 4hrs 30min or sometimes just 30mins to work on it.Feel me?then the weekend comes and i have no car.So i dunno we'll see let the break go by.

if an "engines an engine" and "he knows about the car" then what's the problem? sounds like it should be fixed already.

It is obvious you are fighting a losing battle with the ole Q, and are in way above your head with this old clunker. Sooner or later you gotta ask yourself, wouldnt a newer, more reliable simple car that operates without issues be a better choice than what you are {trying} to deal with?

a Yaris that climbs hills under its own power is often the better choice than a classic Infiniti that must be pushed up the same hill.

If you cannot even RTFSM, you will always be behind and in the hole on this car.

The Yaris or some other transportation appliance is much better suited to the uncaring owner.

W.E. guys.I read the FSM and the valve covers were to be done first. The Yaris once again is not mine.I dont want a new cars because warranty would void if i drop it.So i'll stick to my decision. If i didn't care about the car don't you think i'd make a video of me trashing it?

So im not losing anything but happy for making your self feel better.

Here for help not for insult but now i know.

Blackonblack the lifter not fixed cause i gotta wait til my next oil change. The issue of now occurred before i decided to change my valve cover gasket and spark plugs.I did that because someone said it could be the plugs but figures the injector it is.Thanks.
