Was over finalising a few details for my manifolds today and Leon had a Chevron historic racer in his workshop making up an exhaust. 900bhp american V8 of some sort. Didn't get much time to look at it but got a few snaps. The entire system is 321 stainless

That's some pretty awesome fabrication work.

Tell me, inside that collector there, is that an 'off the shelf' piece that knife edges the pipes where they collect, or has that been built up from weld and then ground to that shape?

Kind of reminds me of an AMC V8 for some reason.

Maybe a Chevy motor with custom heads, but more likely a Buick/Rover V8.

Exactly why I get this guy to do my stuff! It's not off the shelf, was custom for this job. The start of the peak is formed from the way the tubes are cut before welding then he fills and grinds the rest of it. There is probably a days work in each collector.
