I guess you might be able to do that. Not something I would do, the hood deflector is all I wanted, but I guess if you wanted to protect the bottom of the bumper in the front maybe you could put a clear bra on.Mile High Versa wrote:That's cool it looks great, unfortunately it doesn't protect the bumper though. Could you do a hood deflector and have a clear bra simultaneously?
They are just a thin layer of clear plastic protectant. Doesn't look like anything is actually on the car. Its like tint for the front of the car, but not tinted. Tint places are usually the ones who have it as well.Knightro2 wrote:Yea, my actual bumper part looks like a kid with pot marks...it looks horrible. And I have a few chips on the very front of my hood. This is just frustrating.
I've asked the dealer about it but their parts department is clueless. I sent an email to Nissan so we'll see what they say.
I'm not familiar with clear bras. How do they work? Are they the same as a leather/vinyl one but just clear plastic?
Your best bet is to go with the clear bra. What you can do is get price quotes from various shops and compare them all and decide from there.Knightro2 wrote:Well, I finally got a Nissan parts guy with some knowledge on the phone. Apparently the bras will NOT fit a V with the Sport Package. His daughter has one and he ordered one for her a year or so ago and it wouldn't fit. He hasn't been able to find one either.
Aww, that sucks to hear that. Luckily my hood is still in great shape thanks to the hood deflector. However, where I work it has been under construction for the past year, so every time I go to work stones get stuck in the tires. Once I get onto the highway to go home the stones fly up against the side of the car. The side of my car/doors have so many tiny chips it sucks I might have to see about getting some touch up paint.the djay wrote:I had the hood deflector installed on my V when I purchased it. Unfortunately it has not protected my hood worth a damn. I have at least a dozen or so spots on my hood where I have touched up my hood to protect it from rusting thanks to the Deerfoot trail here in Calgary. Just bought the Wife a new Jeep and within two weeks her windshield has been cracked and she has several new chips on her hood and other spots. Don't know what would work here in this city.
