What kind of fuel managment are you going to use with it? Reason I ask is because apparently the stock engine likes to ride "on the edge" of detonation.

Right now we are not going to add any external fuel mgmt. Im only gonna run a 50 shot-75 shot with colder plugs. We will definetly tune on a dyno. If we need to we will probably add an HKS or APEX-i fuel mgmt system but right now I dont think we will need it. I have the data blocks for the ECU and have a NISSAN Scan tool to look into the ECU while tunning..Im actually a X- honda/ Nissan Tech with access to alot of the info most people dont have. Do you have any advice, if so let me know..Later

I don't really have much advice, because I know very little about N20 systems. I just wanted to make sure you knew what you were doing, but it sounds like you do.

Also, I about the knock sensor, I just remember the article in SCC and they mentioned that they plugged a Consult in and monitored ignition retard and said that even while stock, the factory fuel trim waas using the knock sensor, so tuning it could be a nightmare.

But I hope it works out pretty well, post some info when you get it done!

I assume your doing a wet system? An external FPR might be a wise idea to give it a few more pounds of rail pressure anyhow, just to be safe.

i think ud almost have to use a wet system on the stock car, sounds like itd be fun to test tho, i hear the 350Zs are a lil slower than people anticipated, but still look amazing, never having driven one myslef, are they that sluggesh, i mean, of course compared to the 300zx TT???

Sluggish? If your stupid TCS is still on then yea its sluggish cause its tryin not to spin the 300hp. But a simple push of a button and the TCS is OFF. I went ahead and put a aem CIA, ordered the unorthodox racing pulley set, havnt got the pulleys yet though. Still exhuast is next. With the TCS off it makes a huge differance in your launch also. Im not a big fan of nitrous either, cause say you go up against a Z06, your like YEA IM BEATING HIM, ut oh low pressure.....CRAP i lost. Then you look like a idiot. If you run 12's or better then i say its ok to run nitrous cause most likely you wont be losing much so you wont be raping that bottle.

so im assuming you have a 35o the robbie? whate model do u have, also, dyno'd it yet, i love the cars, but unfortunately wont be able to afford one for quite some time, i agree with you about the nitrous, but i like watching other people use it, o yea, good luck beating a zo6 even with an n2o'd 35oZ, the stock zo6's are hitting mid 12s in the quarter

13.6 at 106mph IN THE QUARTER! Oh I have the track series nIsmo. With the TCS off and the aem cold air intake and the complete pulley set I ran a 13.6, it was about 75 degrees outside. Car revs alot quicker with the pulleys which I expected it to.

13.6 is what u recently ran??, nice run for the mods you have, also, where do u launch at with the TCS off, i could imagine you can't go any higher than perhaps 25oo on stock tires

Before I had the pulleys I launched a little higher than 2500 because the motor didnt rev as fast. With the pulleys it starts to rev alot quicker so I leave it right at 2500 pretty much the whole time. I donno if it was motor trend, car and driver or something, but they got a 13.8 out of there stock 350z. I heat my tires up pretty good before my runs though, =D.

haha, there's really probably no need to heat your stock tires before launch anyway, i could imagine you're just wearing tread down, and 13.8 is by far the best ive seen, EVERY other magazine ive seen test (and damn near EVERY magazine in the world tested it) and they were getting constant 14.1s 14.2s, so thats very quick

Yea i know, heating up the tires just looks good, lol. In my opinion the tires on the z SUCK! They are better than most stock tires but i dont want them. The michlens on the 98 240 are beast, i easily out handle my z with the 240 all the time.

Not a disapointment at all! I love my 240, next summer goes in the s14 sr20 with all the goodies at the same time with it, fmic, electric fans, bov, boost controller at 15psi =D, comes with stage 2 clutch and light weight flywheel. I would take the 240 any day over the Z.My 1998 240 is so rare compared to even the Z. I see more 350's than my car anywhere.

true, well if u like the 24o so much, why did u buy the Z, although i have to admit, the Z gives off much more of a status look than the 24o, and so you're saying if you could have one last drive (say u were to have surgery and never be able to move again or something, farfetched, i know, but still) you would pick the 24o over the Z??, cool!!

I donno what I would take. I think the evil eyes on my 240 are VERY attractive looking. People call me evil eyes just cause my car. The 350z looks happy going down the road, when you look in the rear view mirrow and see one you say to yourself, hey look at the cute happy car. When you see my evil 240 in the rear view mirror people tell me its like, OH SH** wtf IS THAT! I need to move out of the way...YEA.

On the 240 currently its all N/A but I have

-Right side mount CIA (battery in trunk)-apexi n1dual exhuast-Hotshot headers-electric fans-B&M short shifter-and just added which made more of a difference than all those others combined, stage 2 pdm cams.-Then I tuned it in the shop just right =)

I think itll stay right on the Z's AZZ

I've seen quite a few z's autocross at our local events. None of them impressed me. They all were getting spanked by neons. And not the srt-4's either.

What kind of numbers did the NOS powered 350z put down?I think the the S/C is going to be the best form of FI for the new Z.

BTW: Rob-The 350z is about 3360lbs and has 287hp and 274 lb-ft of torque.0-60=5.4 seconds1/4=low 14's

The 300zxTT is about ??lbs and has 300 hp / 283 ft lbs torque0-60=5.7 seconds1/4=low 15's

ah no, we are talking the z33's. I Have yet to see a z32 at our autocrossing events. The drivers were just down right poor drivers all together was the problem. A TT z32 would run about the same times as a z33 would.
