It's going to be a free track day on the road course on the 19th I think. I will be there but probably only in the morning because it will get too packed later in the day.

I'm getting back on Saturday night, then going to Drift Camp the next morning somewhere in PA... woohoo. I'll probably be in Edgewater next Thursday.

Thanks Sam. Give me a call when you're free. I should be getting the LS1 on a stand soon to change the oil pump, timing chain, and pan.

PA was great. Having fenders again was cool too.

this picture is fake........what a loser.......if you guys look at he bottom of the car...where the tires meet the ground....you can see there is no smoke coming out of the tires..........tires burn when they spin against the ground.....causing them to produce smoke..........and look there is no smoke............

you are such a wannabe drifter

but good job with the photoshop

I just ran my last event for the season today, so the car is getting disassembled over the next few days. Maybe I'll come in my sister's Pathfinder.

I'm going to try to sell all of my KA transmission stuff as a "5-spd swap package" since I don't need any of the parts for the LS1 swap (except for the clutch pedal). If I can't find a buyer, I'll sell you the transmission.

I need to sell the KA also, but I suspect that it has a blown head gasket. The coolant has been getting brown even after flushing the engine for half an hour. Also, if it sits for a long time at idle, it starts filling up the overflow tank and running hot. So I think there's a leak between a water passage and a combustion chamber. Sam, maybe you can chime in on what's going on if you have any experience.

The engine runs fine, made it to WV and back with a full day of drifting, no problems. But it would probably be a good idea to change the HG. I'll sell it to you for cheap if you want to do that yourself.

HAhaha damn im actually having the same problem with my KA. Its overheating but not at idle after driving for like 5 minutes and it keeps losing fluid without any leaks in system and the overflow tanks just overflows which causes the leak so idk wut the problem could be i was thinking headgasket to but idk

I'll let you know about the ka though then again it also depends on the price. So shoot me a price text me if you want. Or you could email me a [email protected]

Hey. Welcome. We're all mostly from north Jersey. A few people are in central Jersey. How did you break the engine? Anyway, check the thread once in a while. We'll post on here if we're meeting up somewhere.

Nino, that sucks about the engine (and transmission... lol). It's funny because my friend Mel did a manual swap on his car a few months back and it does exactly the same thing... really hard to get it into first gear. Anyway, I want $100 for the KA. It's got 108,000 miles on it, so definitely worth changing the HG. It still has a lot of life in it. Let me know if you're interested. Also, did you end up picking up the auto transmission from my garage or did someone steal that ****?

Dan, I just sent you an e-mail.

hey guys im still alive um not looking at the cars

nino you sound like you might have a sticking themostat if its ok at idle but overheats driving sounds like no flow in the cooling system or you water pump fins rotted off and coolant loss might be from the overheating

miro you might be hitting the nail on the head with that one if the temp gose down when you rev it up that sounds like a head gasket let you car sit over night the coolant should leak into the cylinders over night if thats were the gasket failed and pull the plugs in the morning befor you start it with the plugs out give it a crank if coolant flyes out your done

both you guys check for white smoke, milky oil, and pull you plugs and look for a really clean one when coolant burns it steam cleans that cylinder

if you guys want i have to stop by miros to pick up some steelies if he still has some i can run compression and leak down tests on your engins and do a visual with my cylinder scope

good luck guys

that will be $75 each for diag.

lol J/K

Yea thats what it thought with the thermostat but i replaced it twice once with a piece of **** pepboys and then just recently with an oem one from nissan, MY water pump isn't leaking so i don't think its that unless your right about the fins being worn down, IDK though cuz the water pump is only like a year and half old tops. I'm almost 100% positive that im losing the coolant through my overflow tank cuz there is a hole in the common spot and it overflows there. It never used to do that and i dont see any white smoke but i will check the plugs for an extremely clean one thatnks for the info. I wouldnt be able to make it down to Miro's I'm at school down by trenton and my car is at my house by rutgers becase it was pissing me off and i couldnt drive it back to school so i prolly won't know if the plugs are clean until next weekend.

Oh and most of the time the lower rad hose is cold. Which i always thought was water pump, thermostat or a block in the system

Thanks for the advice. I'll pull the plugs and check it out. I also found this chemical at NAPA that you put in your coolant. It turns a different color if combustion gases are present, so that would tell you if it's blown. But it costs $50. There are no "typical" signs of a blown HG like milky oil/oil cap, white smoke, etc.

At this point, it's just a matter of curiousity for me. The KA is getting pulled this week, so it's not like I need it to keep it running. I might be able to sell it for like $100 more if the HG is fine. But basically, just curious about what's wrong with it so I know if I ever see these symptoms again.

Sam, come and pick up steelies whenever you want. I'm still at the garage almost every night of the week. We also have another S13 hatch in there now, which Eulises brought over. We've completely stripped it and are about to start rust repair, stitch welding, and then cage. So if you want to practice body work or welding, come on over. Give me a call tonight if you're free. I'll be in the garage from 7:30 to 10:30.

Also, if anyone wants a single-cam KA (needs rebuild) or auto transmission to take to a metal recycler and get some cash, let me know. Dat's engine is finally out of his car and taking up space.

well i have to get back to messing with my car so i will be down ive been really busy im think about buying the shop i work at and making half a custom shop and keep the rest for my regular cust. so that would be cool and i figured out i suck at drifting so i need to practice some were so ive been look for lots but no luck my clutch is still slipping a bit but i dont care anymore ill blow it out the car and after months of research i found my turbo its a GT2860R Alternate - 5 Turbo it has a "unique turbine discharge pattern" thats why i couldnt find a turbo down for it but i found parts to make one so its coming together just havent had the time it sucks so ill will be out this up coming season i told my boss ill be taking off wed. for club loose and anything else i wanna do along the lines of racing so ill see you soon most likely tomorrow i can diag your old ka for you and give you a hand with anything else let me know about tools

nino you def sound like no flow in the system if you coolant is brown and rusty looking your rad might have clogged up too take the hoses off and put a garden hose in it if it comes out the lower slow or the rad weighs a tone its clogged if there is alot of chunky sh*t coming out as well your thermostat could be clogging up too good luck
