Second underground detonation in their history.
BBC wrote:The blast, which was estimated by international seismologists to have the power of a 4.5 earthquake, appears to have been much more powerful than North Korea's first nuclear test, in October 2006.

Defense officials in neighboring Russia say it was an explosion of up to 20 kilotons, making it comparable to the American bombs that flattened Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.

They also said that they aren't going to bow down to sanctions and that they feel the US is foolish for thinking so.

Liberals have steadfastly sucked at War and anything defense related. Good thing the Gov is entirely run by Dems now...

Lets see Obama sweet talk his way around this one. I don't think a single nation has any respect for the man...or the US for that matter. Everyone know's we can't afford another war. Especially since he just spent 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 on helping people stay on welfare and unemployment.

Hopefully the international community will do something instead of us for a change. All those nations in the short-medium range of NK are at a direct threat.

Hes threatening international security, a Rogue state with nuclear weapons? A state that also is poor as hell with a crumbling infrastructure. Then there is money, terrorism and war. Its just got bad news written all over it.

-NK abandons truce with SK and has said SK has 'Declared war' with the ship embargo of NK waters.

-Steams coming up from NK's main reactor for creating weapons grade Pu.

-NK promises to attack if its ships are stopped.

Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.

Unfortunately this isnt an issue that can be approached unilaterally at this point, nor would it be wise to do so ever unless forced to. The US military, while being the largest and most potent fighting force on the globe is stretched thin. We only have so many nuclear carriers and the defense to go with them.

Although it will be very interesting to see how BO handles this. I would like to see our military support the embargo of NK in whatever way we can. The last thing anyone needs is NK getting nuclear material out of their country and onto the black market.
