What's up fellas, quick question. Just curious as to what the operating temp is for our cars once fully warmed up and driving about? My temp sits just a marker down from halfway. Is this normal or should it be running lower? Thanks in advance.

BUMP...... I find it hard to believe that no one monitors their cars temperature.

Ok cool, I think its actually about 195 w/200 being smack dab in the middle. Every car is different so I wanted to make sure it was normal. Thanks for your reply Joe!

All Nissan vehicles have funky coolant temp gauges designed to indicate a wide ok region and respond SLOWLY to any changes and momentary spikes......................always use your OBD2 scanner to read the accurate sensors that tell ecu what the coolant temp is then you can develop a feeling for what is a correct range for the inside feel good gauge.

Well I don't have an OBD2 scanner so I cannot monitor anything that way, which is why I asked if 195 is the norm for the G. Due to the lack of replys, it seems that not too many owners monitor it.

Anyways, I am finding that alot of performance cars run around that temp to perform ideally, so I have come to the conclusion that the G is included.

Thats one thing I don't like about the G...the gauges. Why wouldn't they include an oil pressure and battery gauge is beyond me. As far as temp, so long as its not extreme hot or cold, I'd say you're fine.

i thought that was wierd to not having a battery gauge because i used to have to watch it in my truck when i had my system bumping and that was with a cap and i guess the compressor to the air ride suspension didnt help the battery niether

Most people wouldn't understand a cold 100 psi nor a warm 15 psi and anything in between based on rpm and oil viscosity [new and used].

Those that want the data have the option of installing one in varying grades and prices.

As to alternator voltage the warning lights function well, after all nothing one can do about it [a full or partial failure] other than service.

Scanners for OBD II are realtively inexpensive and very useful.

HI there, I live in Arizona and own a 2005 G35 with Suspension/Tire package. I have owned this car for a year now and always noticed the TEMP seemed above average. Well I monitored the TEMP from Day 1 waiting for the "worm" summer we have here and noticed NO difference at all (16000 miles later). JUST ONE MARK BELOW HALF, whether it is 75 degree or 115 outside. Weird but that's the thruth.

As per the gauges, I have to agree with joe603. I fell in love for the G35 the first time I saw it and finally got one. Diasppointing the fact that there is no Computer that maesures mileage, gas consumption; my wife's 2005 Murano has it and even her previous 2003 Murano. And also th elack of battery gauge and oil pressure...WTF. But the car is soooo beautiful...I can do without them.
