i have had my 240 for a few months, and when i havent driven it for a while (8hrs- a day) my automatic shifts real hard into 2nd. it doesn't slip between gears, but it does shift pretty hard. especially at a low rpm, when cold. all the other gears are pretty smooth. after i drive it for a while, the shifts are fine, not quite as firm. is this normal?

i hear 240 trannies are pretty tough, is this just something i need to get used to? its the worst when it is cold outside. the fluid has just been changed the thing is plugged in the engine bay on the driver side fender. car has 102k on it.

just looking for a little input on how your car shifts from you automatic owners.

My car does the same exact thing. I would not worry about it. :)

It feels pretty normal on my end too. Mine was pretty rough before I changed the transmission fluid. Used castrol ATF and changed the strainer assembly on the underside of the at. Be careful of the new gasket for the pan on the underside though, when I bought mine it came with a warning about asbestos and yes it was a genuine gasket and pretty expensive too like 20 bucks.
