Yeah, i just threw it in im so tired of funking with diffs, but i could tell the back case has been opend before, and compared to my r32 one this one will break it loose easy an be all over the road.SeVa-S13 wrote:Happen to get any pics of the inside of the diff? I was just about to say the same thingThe person might have welded the diff before you aquired itcontinental_drift wrote:a clutch type will definately clunk, but at low speeds...so will a welded diff.
Well.......................................... Woke up took a drive and its clunking again, i guess i jumped the gun BAD im gonna drain the heavyweight redline out and put in some 75w-90 gear oil, if that doesnt help, drop the funker AGAIN and open it up and take some pics.RB20DETodd wrote:well i just got back from a long freeway trip (back and fourth) and some nice doughnut sessions and i guess i just needed to work it, but all i can say is WOW, drives awesome, nice launches, and spins in one spot i love venus auto!!
If it is clunking, you obviously have a clutch diff. This is the reason that it locks up so well. You lucked out and got something much better than a vlsd. Clutch diffs require a specific type of gear oil, so DO NOT run regular 75w90. Find out exactly what kind of diff it is before doing anything else. If it is a clutch diff as I suspect, it will clunk when you turn at low speeds. Get used to it and learn to love the superior locking capability of your diff.RB20DETodd wrote:Well..........................................
