This is completely normal, the CVT and engine are working as designed for maximum efficiency and this has been discussed in extensive detail on this forum. If you check out any of the threads in the Glossary regarding the CVT you will get lots of detailed information.
In short, this is the torque converter locking up and the CVT selecting a very high gear ratio for maximum efficiency. You may feel a vibration similar to driving a manual trans in high gear around town. This vibration is not a concern as the QR2.5 engine in the Rogue is specifically designed to work with the CVT gearing a programming. From what I understand, it has a very long bore and stroke, producing lots of torque at low rpms making it a perfect fit for the CVT and high gear ratios.
Everything is working fine, enjoy driving the Rogue and getting great fuel efficiency and performance!
