I'm planning on going up north to San Francisco for WEKFEST (2/20/11)
I'm going to be staying at san fran from 2/18 - 2/20.

I was wondering if you guys were free on saturday , 2/19/11, so we could get a meet going somewhere.
I'm not familiar with the area since i'm from so cal so if you guys could give some suggestions for a place to meet and if you guys are down to even have a meet.

Post please!! I wanna see how the scene is up north so please lemme know!

hey jun, i don't think i'll be going to wekfest anymore, since weksos apparently can't stick to their word on having a registration window instead of having it be first come first serve.

I'm not interested in wekfest (heard like 25% of the cars there got key'd or broken into last year). as for a meet somewhere else in the bay, I MIGHT be down but idk yet. just started school this week and this is my hardest semester so far.... FML!

i went to wekfest last year (didnt make it past that big a** line tho lol) but the traffic sucked balls! & i was there like 2 hrs early

but im considering a new exhaust & i really wanna hear that lsd in person!

that would be good, but it's hard to get others from this site to show up. you cant post a meet thread in gen chat, and the regional forum sucks.

also, i might end up showing at wekfest if my team was allotted some extra spots.

i would like to go to this, went last year and the line was beyond long. best bet is to get there about 6 or 7 am, IMO. If Bk is not going, then chances are, i will not be able to skip 3/4 of the line this year.

I don't think I would like to park around the wekfest area. Last year about 4 cars up from mine, i watched this guy park between two euros, crunch both of them and decide that he didn't really want to park there anyway.

Good place to meet up? Good parking in San Francisco, good luck lol. I think the best bet is paid parking somewhere, but even that can be sketch. If i think of a good meet up spot, I'll post back later.

haha i'd actually be able to skip the lines completely this year if i rode with one of my teammates at the morning staging session. unfortunately, i don't think i'll be going to wekfest since 1. im not showing anymore and 2. i have a basketball team to coach.

well, they closed the prescreening early; it was supposed to be a 4 week window and not first come first serve. apparently, they were flooded with emails and decided to close registration early, which ticked me and lots of other people off. i was actually having my lip kit painted specifically for wekfest when they closed the window, so i was not a happy camper. weksos also ticked off district 10, a big crew up here, and now wekfest is being boycotted by d10 and some other crews.

as for the 1 more spot thing, i can see why they would have to stand behind their decision to not allow me in. if they allowed me in, they would open the floodgate for hundreds of other cars saying, well why let him in and not us? it's frustrating, but from a business side of things i can understand that.

regardless, you'll still get a chance to see my car at the norcal meet, on the assumption that the meet is not in the east bay or north bay again. i'm done driving there for a while.
