Hey guys, our grand plans to have a 'vert meet at NOPI Nationals is foiled because NOPI is cancelling all their shows for the rest of the year.

On a related note. We're going to put together a meet and greet in Fond du Lac, WI on Sept 20th. We're going to open it up to all imports, but it will be targeted toward Nissans especially.

So if anyone from the midwest wants to make a roadtrip we'd love to have you!!!!

you should make the meet in a more general area, where its an equal distance for anyone in the midwest... like St. Louis

Hmmm.... I remember Seth mentioning something about this a while ago.

What's the reasoning behind doing this in the middle of cow country? Why not have it at a more centralized/well known location like Chicago or Indianapolis.

I'd like to try to make it either way.

The basis for this meet is a Wisconsin Nissan meet that a few of us WI NICO members are putting together.

Since we'll already have 3 or more 'vert in attendance, I though I'd advertise it to the rest of the 'vert crew.

Next summer we can do another 'vert club meet and we'll centralize it a bit more.. say Chicago area...

But for this summer, since we've already got the location and date set for the WI Nissan meet, we'll just do the 'vert crew in conjunction with that event.

Ok. That makes more sense... I guess I'll look into getting the MI crew together for a boat ride.

The Ferry's are incredibly expensive!!! I've looked into them before.. total ripoff. You'd be better to drive around the lake.

It would be awesome if you could make it!!!

uhm... yeah... I just checked those rates... WOW!!! You weren't kidding.

So, if I'm paying $150 round trip for my car, does that mean I don't have to pay extra for my wife and I? Then there's an extra $40 in other fees? I think we'll drive around if we decide to go. That's highway robbery for sure.

The fare for the car doesn't include passengers.

I'm not expecting you to make it.. it's a long drive, and gas is very pricey. But.. if you can make it.. Awesome!!!

Heck if you want to make a vacation out of it.. Drive to Wisconsin friday night, you guys can stay with us Friday night, then we'll have the car meet Sat., then you can stay with us again if you want Sat. night or head north into the UP. Then spend Sunday meandering your way home. Make it a loop around the lake. I've always wanted to do that.

I'm not sure where nationals were going to be at, but I know that IA is going to be next weekend in nashville, I'd love to see some vert rep there for sure.

Here's a rough draft of the flyer.

Any suggestions for edits?

I am going to pull the Z car at the bottom right and swap in a Supra... just to show that it's open to all.

Thanks.. credit to my wife for the design work.

I'm going to put it on NICO and some other larger forums, then some smaller local forums as well.

I don't think we need to print them out and post them all over.

The park has room for about 65 cars total. So I'm not looking to get every civic and cavalier owner in the state to show up.

Basically my idea is to make it sort of an invite thing. The invite will be open to those on NICO and some local nissan forums. Then if they want to invite their friends as well... fantastic!

One important note: We are going to do a cookout, but after talking to the city of Fond du Lac, I found out that if we request any sort of payment or even donation for food, we would need to have a permit that costs more money to get. I don't want to deal with it.SO: by word of mouth... We'll organize when people show up and figure out who wants in on burgers/brats... then we'll take a collection and have someone run to a grocery store for supplies and then we'll fire up the grills.

That's correct NIA. This thread was started just after the NOPI announcement to cancel their remaining shows.

Since then things have changed.

The "Nationals" are back on. But they are not the real NOPI Nationals. It will be a smaller show the same weekend and not at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

But, NICOfest will be there and going strong!
