Looking good!! Looks much better back up to the nearly stock height.

I bet it handles better too now.

Only thing you need now is an old Sparkomatic AM/FM/Cassette player for the truck.

Don't forget your hood pins kiddies, or this will happen to you....

Yeah, bonehead mistake of the year right there. Anyway, I put a set of buckets in her from a 2003 Honda Civic. Much more comfortable and only required a little bit of welding - two new brackets. That combined with my baller Wal-Mart console makes this truck almost nice.

Good decision. Mini-trucks are by far the worst thing to ever set foot upon the earth.

Those are Civic Hybrid wheels. They're designed with two things in mind and neither of them is attractiveness. #1 is aerodynamics and #2 is "look at my weird hybrid" attention grabbingness.

Nice that you've been keeping up with the project, not many people do. And thanks for the pics!

Hey Clint!

Glad to have you on Nico!

Im sorry for your misfortune with the hood, but things like this do happen.

Atleast you were not in the middle of a race and manifold pressure was so great your APC flo' mat fell out!

Best of luck with this project and hope to see some progress soon!

That sucks about the hood hitting the roof.

However I really like that interior. Looks inviting almost!

Good job, hopefully you can fix the hood.

I don't know who you are (I'm sorry!), but thanks!

Funny thing about the manifold pressure bit. Since you know me, that did happen to the Honda which was why I parted it out. 18 psi at 7K and the MAP sensor blew out of the intake manifold. Death and destruction ensued that I did not recover from. Oh well, on to bigger and better projects.

The hood, lol. I just took it off, flipped it upside down on the ground and jumped on it to get the big dents out. Worked good enough for me. Most of that dent in the roof came out with a pry bar from the other side. I rock full coverage on the truck w/ a $50 deductible so that paid for the windshield. My insurance company asked if I wanted to get an estimate for the rest of the damage, but it probably would have totaled it out so I didn't! Just adds character.

Ordered a new (to me) instrument cluster from a '93 Pathy yesterday. Time to ditch my tach-less, rivet stud for a speedo needle, one light working stock cluster. That's about the last change I will make until I get some time to de-shave the truck. I plugged the escape hatch behind the seats but it appears I didn't take any pics of it.

The hood on my old 720 flipped up on me while driving to work. Lucky it didn't break the windshield.

Truck looks better everytime you post.

Thanks for the compliments folks. I do like my little A -> B truck. My new cluster showed up today, and much to my dismay, a '93 Pathfinder cluster physically fits, but the plugs did not. Luckily Nissan prints most of the wiring on the back of the clusters so I was able to get it 95% of the way hooked up. I hate wiring, but I like soldering. Odd combination, I know.

I still need to wire the high beam indicator in correctly, the clock, and figure out how to wire in the tach (can't find any leads under the dash) but that should be small stuff once I find the wiring diagrams for each truck. I just need to get on Alldata and pull them up.

But it's in and it's much better.

LOL - yes it's a very long thread..... Wal-mart granite paint FTL.

Pulled the wiring diagrams for both trucks off Alldata, time to read them and figure how to wire up the rest of the business.

Bleh. No AC in the hardbody is killing me, so she's about to be sold. I just need to give her a bath, clean the interior, post up an ad on CL and stick a sign in the window. Bye bye Piggy.

On a happier note, I am picking up an '04 Frontier on Thursday!

The long bed crew cab D22 is near the top of my favorite midsize trucks list. Great looking hard working trucks. Is yours supercharged or N/A?

It's not worth sweating my a** off everyday in it is what it boils down to. As far as making any money off it, I want $1800 for it. I'm going to stick a sign in the window on Monday and see what happens.

Grip the truck has, power it does not.

It's N/A and fairly anemic. I think that the four catalytic converters aren't helping anyone except the oil princes in the Middle East. But it won't be a truck to modify much. Just upgrades as things need replacing.

Thanks, it's OK. Better late than never.

But here's the new truck!

No name yet, but damn she was filthy. So I pulled out most of the interior and got to work. It looked like the guy had spilled two pots of coffee down the side of each seat, then dumped a bucket of sand in the truck to soak up the coffee, and then let it sit to soak up the liquid.....since 2005.

As you can see here, I'm missing a rear center cap. No big deal. I like the stance of the truck though. 3" body lift and the tires are 33x12.5x15. Moar pics. I hadn't washed it yet in these photos, but the gray hides the dirt really well.

I think all told I spent a good 5 hours on the truck just getting it mostly clean. I still need to wash the headliner (he smoked, a lot) and hit the inside with some Armor-all, but it's getting there.

Finally mostly cleaned up on the exterior...

And I just got home this morning after putting a new set of tires on her. After cleaning up the wheels, the engine bay, and all the plastic trim I took one more picture. She rides a lot better on the A/T tires on it than those Mickey Thompson mudders!

GMOH is pretty much done. Just waiting for the paint to dry and I'll put them back together tomorrow.

Hai stockers...

Time for you to go in the oven. Laid on a wet towel at 220° for about 15 minutes....

Sproing! They magically fell apart!

A little black primer:

And some Gunmetal engine paint and we're done! I'll re-assemble them tomorrow.

Thanks. If it wasn't so daggone hot down here I wouldn't give up on the old girl.

BOH done.

I'll put them back on the truck once it stops raining and I replace a couple bulbs.

BOH is done and on. Forgive the pics, but it was raining the whole time I was out there tinkering.

My truck came with some extra parts that I decided I didn't need.

If I wanted silencers on my intake, I would put them there. I don't need Nissan telling me my truck is too loud so they are going to quiet it down for me. That left a couple holes that needed plugging though.

Here is Sugar's old radiator overflow cap plugging one hole. For those of you who don't know (which is pretty much everyone), Sugar is my old '03 Civic that I parted out.

Now for a little RTV on the other one.....

.....followed by a Mario olive jar cap! Don't hate, it's what I had laying around in the garage and it fit perfectly. Gotta keep the intake from sucking up hot air from the engine bay now that the silencers (or resonators, pick your fancy) are gone.

Done and done. It even looks semi-OEM!

That big silencer was a pain in the tookus to get out. Not only is it up in the fenderwell, but the rearmost fastener can only be removed if you move the ABS module. Momma didn't raise no fool so I just cut the plastic tab with some tin snips instead of removing theABS module.
