Hey guys, i just joined the forum. There are some really great posts here, glad there are tons of versa fans out there!

Here are my questions: I have a 2009 1.8S 6-mt versa sedan. I was wondering about strut and sway bars. I drive regular speeds, dont race, just regular driving and long road trips, 50/50 city and highway. I was wondering if a strut bar and/or sway bars would improve my versa's handling at all? Any drawbacks for modifying the system at all?
Thanks for the input!

if you are just cruising around town, just go for a strut bar. you'll feel the difference in the "tightness" of the car and enjoy the handling. It won't break the piggy bank either.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Can a strut bar make the ride more choppy, or decrease mpg, or increase tire wear? Im just curious about the side-effects of a strut bar? Thanks!

All it does is stiffen the chassis up a little but the ride quality should be the same. Tire wear should be the same as it's not messing with alignment at all. It will definitely have no effect on mpg. Suspension mods very rarely have anything to do with mpg.

BUT... I have heard that in a wreck, having the strut towers connected can bend the entire front end or something like that. Or maybe it was a sway bar having to do with that and insurance wouldn't cover it but I don't think it's a big issue.

Any preferences between DC Sports vs. Tanabe for the front strut bar? I have read that the DC sports bar is a bit stronger/flush fitting than the tanabe, but not sure if that was a rumor since it was just 1 guys opinion. any of you guys have one or the other and like it? Thanks!

I will be buying the DC this summer as well as the exhaust too.
