yeah i am a noob on these forums(on da streets you know what im sayin)haha..but i have a serious question!

i recently just bought a 97 kouki for super cheap and it didnt come with no cd player in it(you know i wanted some sick tunes like taylor swift since kanye cant appreciate her haha)..so, i got a cd player from one of my friends and went to install it myself and it pretty much just turned into a catastrophe..all right well the cd player still doesnt work, had both audio fuses blown, and tail lamp fuse was blown. the fuse coming from the battery was blown and the car it not charging anymore??? or seems like it i mean will pop the clutch and as soon as you turn any accessory on it will want to cut off! i am completely stump on this..never in my life has anything happened to me this bad from just trying to install a cd player! i mean i dont think i am a complete idiot!

lol dang all for a cd player. well i dont know a whle lot about the worongs in thee 240 but i just installed a cd/mp3 player on my s13 (idk how different it is from the s14 if it is diff at all). i was blowing fuses too but not as much as you. i just checked all the wires to see whats shorting and just gathered the cut wires under the dash done by previous owner and covered them making sure theyre not touching anything in there, not even each other , and esp the metal bars in there. soon enough my cd/pm3 worked perfect. might not be a big help but maybe something to start on, checking wires that are shorting and make sure you go the right wires

the fuse that blew off the battery im assuming you're reffering to the fuseable link. you'll definately need that. as for the radio issue, its like rms13mike said, its probably a short like from when someone else installed a radio and did a half a** job. in s13s ive heard of the rear amp causing problems. im fairly sure s14s have them too. it's located behind the rear seats, im not sure exactly though. hope this helps a little.

yeah...the dude that had it before had a system in it.and still has the wires running to the back and i think he's had these problems before cause in the center console there in every fuse you would need for the car...plus, in the glove box there is all kinds of relays ..(im lovin it )hahaha so yeah that tells me that this crap has happened to him..i just hope if anything big did blow, it was the regulator on the alternator and not the whole diodes or brushes in the alternator...regulator is only like 20 buck compared to 100-150 for the whole alternator! but i think im going to track all the wiring down for the stereo....but oh i just love some boom boom in my ears allll day while im drivin! especially letting people hear all the cool music i listen too!! haha nah but im going to try that slipknot trick!!! let me barrow yo cd!! maybe i can put a beyonce video in and it will be straight!
