Welcome to our forum.

You'll find this a little different than the Acura boys.

We tend to be a little more into the quallity of the pork rather than the shade of lipstick it is wearing.

You will learn a lot about how your car works or should work if you spend the time reading the prevous posts.

Start with all by Q45tech.

Don't get offended at our antibling /antiloud sound comments as we look at the orginal design purpose of the transportation device.

To be invisible as possible in moving from one place to another, quietly and comfortably. Never wanting to attract any attention other than elegence in motion: "Elegance is the attribute of being unusually effective and simple. It is frequently used as a standard of tastefulness, particularly in the areas of visual design and decoration. Elegant things exhibit refined grace and dignified propriety".

Mods to reverse the design philosophy often cause stress on the orginal unchanged portions of the unit.

The DUB badge is better on a Chrysler.

Got interior pics?

To each it's own. I love the Dub style of cars. The Dub badge should be taken off but hey, we are speaking about his car. Welcome and your Q45 looks nice!! Are you running 255/30/22 tires? I have 20"s on mine and I plan on dropping it a tab bit to kill some of the space. I don't want to run 22"s, but i'm just curious as to what tires you are running.

Thank you guys for the constructive criticism. Its highly appreciated.Im running 245/30/ZR22.... Really close. Yea, I added everything before I got a chance to appreciate its real purpose in being classy and quiet. The BOSE system had an incredible sound but I wanted the idea of a in dash tv with NAV. The badge was there when I bought it. I put the system in to get a clearer sound and I love bass. Its probably not meant for this car but, Id rather put it on this one than my Legend coupe or my gas saving accord. Im thinking of selling it this weekend (without the rims) and getting a 99. I believe thats the year that the headlights changed right? I love those and when I do get it, I think Id VIP it but without the BLING.... Rims will be sold.

BTW I still have the OEM BOSE unit if anyone is interested....

All 1999+ FGY33 have HID low beams, numerous safety improvements each year, and as a symbol of Infiniti bling, an analog clock, also included in the 1998 and later FGY33.

Thanks.... Havent been on for a while.... Since, Ive sle the Q for $4500 without the rims, unfortunately with the monitor. It wasnt navi it was just a dvd flip out... Looking for a 99-01 now or maybe even the 02s. I think theyre fresh. Ill get a staggered setup for that one if I get it but for now, Im just rocking my Legend. Anyone interested in the OEM Bose unit? I can meet up with one of the locals down here and personally give him the unit. (due to all the scammers on line now adays) What do you guys think looks best or is a better choice.... pros and cons about the 99-01s or 02+?

Plus Ill upload more pics of the car before I sold it....

Y33 99-01s should be Ok . The F50 is better and more powerful, 340 horses, but avoid the 02 as some cars have high oil consumption issues.

F50 is the 3rd generation Q's. Just like 2nd generation Q's are called Y33's. It's from 2001-whenever?

The F50 is the 3rd generation Q45 for model year 2002-2006. It's based on the combined Cima-President platform in Japan. The 1st gen Q, G50, 1990-1996, was based on the President platform while the 2nd gen FY33, 1997-2001 was based on the Cima.

Actually, Y33 is either a Cedric or a Gloria in Japan., never a Cima Cima's, upon which the 2nd generation Q45 is based, are all FY33 or, via the US parts manual, FGY33 for the US model.

Lazy American owners who are ignorant of JDM models and aftermarket part retailers use Y33 carelessly, the latter to broaden their market.

Actually, it is more correct to say the President was based on the HG50 platform, as was the Q45. There also was an extended wheelbase platform, the JHG50, I believe.

The current President is pretty much just an upgraded trim model like a Park Avenue is still a Buick. It came into being only after the HG50 platform was discontinued in 2002.

Current President {think Cimarron} is just a fancy trimmed Cima{Cavalier}

What a shame nissan decided not to play at that level after 2002!!!

Jumping in on the hi-jacked noob thread (a Q45 noob myself) I thought the Q45 was a President, period, and that the Cedric was a similar platform with a 6cyl. Idiot? I hope not, but I like to know what I'm driving.

what year is your q45? no q45 is a president. cedric is a similiar chassis for the y33 q45 and y34 m45 in japan.

The G50 President was only imported to America as the Q from 89-96. The "Y33" was not a President and was a cheaper car in Japan. Americans got such a bastardized version of a 1st class lux car that calling your Q45 a President is like calling my pomeranian a great dane... its just wrong!

1.) But the G50 Q45 shares the same chassis as the JHG50 President.

2.) All Y33 are Cedric and Glorias. Cimas and 2nd generation US Q45 are all FY33 or FGY33 (in the US).

The Y34 M45 is a US only model, never avaialble in Japan. It is truly an unique US only model.

1. yea we know that already. the guy asked if his q45 was a president.

2. cedric is a similiar chassis for the y33 q45. they all end in y33. if you flip through a vip magazine you see y33 cima/gloria/cedric.

yea i know that. cedric is a similiar chassis for the y33 q45 & y34 m45 i never said they were exactly the same.
