noob with a sentra swap

I bought a 91 sentra se-r from a friend. He put a sr20det in it but ot dont have a turbo. It idels fine when i plug a hose but when i un plug it it it doesn't stay at idel. Also has difficulty starting and staying running when cold. But wheb it warms up it stays idle speed. (As long as thr hose is plugged) please help

sounds like it's an EGR delete car. Just plug that hose, which probably used to run between the EGR and AICV and let it eat. Unplugging obviously causes a vacuum leak that won't let the AICV do it's job. My real question is why did he pull the turbo off a DE-T? At any rate, it's a stout motor that should provide you with years of good service. Hope this helps. cheers!

No clue why haha. I been thinking about putting a turbo back in it. And thanks for letting me know anything else u know about this motors will be helpful

Also forgot to add when I'm starting it when its cold it will not start right off the bat. I have to give it gas and keep it revved. And it will make popping noises threw the intake. But after a few mins I can let my foot up off the gas and it will idle on its own
Even tho my idle sits at 1500 rpm
