Noob to engine swaps!

I have a stock 1988 Nissan sentra and I want to do an engine swap. I know the engine that I have in it now is not good for performance. I just want to know where to start. I've never done an engine swap before, but I am good with motors. I want to get the best for my car!

For engines, I'd start by calling Soko - http://soko.com - they'll also probably have any other swap-related parts you'll need. Any USDM stuff you use can be sourced from local or internet junkyards.
