AFAIK, it's never been done before, at least not in the US. There's always a first for everything! The place to start would be to get some measurements and see how hard fabrication would be. The important thing is the distance from the front sub-frame to the transmission crossmember . Also what do the engine and transmission mounts look like on the Z? You may have to make custom, solid, mounts. I would plan on a custom driveshaft as well. How do you plan on running the motor? Were you going to try to run some Webbers, or were you wanting to run some sort of EFI? Anyway, that's a start. We also have a Z specific forum here and they may actually be a little better group to go talk to about this. Hope that helps!

Hey Abe,

Shouldn't be too hard. But why?

You could also fit an R34 Skyline GTT RB25DET-NEO in there, for not much more dollars. A smooth 160-180kW at the wheels..all good for a Z.

The CA engine conversion is not appropriate for the weight of the 240Z, you need the torque of a 6 or 8 cylinder.

A CA18 would fit in there easy as....but as dattodude said....a bit more torquer of a 6 would be better suited to the Z.
