hey guys

i tried searching this but i couldnt get anything specific

i have an alpine 9813 for my deck and theres something fishy going on with my remote wire (the one that is supposed to run from my deck to amp)

now i got the basic aftermarket harness i believe

12v ignition: Red12v constant: YellowGround: BlackPower Antenna: BlueAmp Turn-on (remote): Blue/WhiteIllumination: Orange (usually cut and taped)Dimmer: Orange/White (usually cut and taped)Right Front (+): GrayRight Front (-): Gray/BlackLeft Front (+): WhiteLeft Front (-): White/BlackRight Rear (+): VioletRight Rear (-): Violet/BlackLeft Rear (+): GreenLeft Rear (-): Green/Black

so what wire to i attach the remote wire to? i tried the blue/white amp turn on one, but had no luck with it cause i got nothing out of the sub. and when i took it out of the crimper cause i wanted to see what the wire was doing, it cut out all of my speakers. i rewired the whole sub and box and tested the amp with another sub too so i know the amp is working

the only other thing i can think of is the sub is completely fubar, but it worked fine before we took it out of my friends car

hopefully it made sense. im pretty nub when it comes to car audio and i wont beat around the bush on that. if ANYONE can explain this to me and make sense of of my post i would really really appreciate it

Blue/white is indeed the remote turn on. Does the amp power on? If so, then obviously that blue/white wire is working. If it doesn't power on then disconnect the remote turn on from the amp and use a jumper wire between the power wire on the amp and the remote turn on terminal on the amp. If this doesn't work then you either have a bad amp, no 12v+ or ground at the amp. You said the sub doesn't play, but you didn't bother saying whether or not the amp power light is on. Let me know then we can go from there.

oops

yes the amp is working and the light turns on. we tested the amp on my friends setup

what i think it might be after doing a bit more research into the matter, is the stock amp setup that the 240's have

so yesterday i bypassed the rear amp, and will probably look at swapping in 6.5's in the front and taking out the whole speaker/amp combo in the doors

once the stock amps are out i have a feeling that the aftermarket one will work=)

thanks for the help though i appreciate it. ill let you guys know how it turns out!
