So i need to buy a new airfilter, seemed simple enough but now it seems like everyone is different . And i dont know what kind the air filter is that was on the car when i bought it to replace it with. So my question is, can i just buy any airfilter that has the same diameter at the opening. Here is some pics of the air filter. To me looks like an old apexi(which i was lookin at gettin a new apexi) but there is no markings or name, so mayb a no name filter? again very noob of me hah the simple stuff always gets me. Thanks

As long as it has the right dimensions and you have a MAF adapter for the SR you can use any filter you want. You can get a cheapy "get by" filter on eBay with a MAF adapter for like $20. If you've already got that then you're good to go. I think the diameter is 3 inches.

Get a K&N that way you can clean it instead of replacing it./Thread

I would stay away from K&N, Nissan put out TSB's on for K&N filters damaging the MAF.

The oil damages the MAFs? Then get the AEM dry flow filter. Same concept as a k&n, still cleanable and reusable just doesn't use oil.

Or just clean the MAF on a regular basis like you are supposed to and call it a day.
