Noob question I know but I have a rather stupid problem..

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I have 89 and I recently swapped it's blown motor out for a ka24de out of a 95. I have everything matched up except for the Power Steering pump. No matter how hard I search I can't seem to find a picture of the engine so I can at least figure it out myself. Just wondering if the old 89 bracket for the pump would work (doubting it) and where the 95's pump should be. Also if I need the 95's pump. The car I got the engine out of didn't have them in it.

thanks

edit: Ok sorry, didn't think to search before.. but anyway- since the old reservoir/pump has to be moved to the otherside, what should I do about the mounts? I'm guessing right above AC? (before I ask too many more dumb questions I'll go to bed, thanks for any help you guys can provide, I really do appreciate it.)

In all honesty is would be easier just to swap out your rack and pinion from a 91 or newer since 91-98 is different from 89-90. You could fab up everything you need but it would just be easier to use the setup that was made for the motor setup.

Swap the R&P???

I just helped a guy do this exact same swap and all we did was VERY CAREFULLY bend the hardline around so it would loop back to the driver side. Never changed a single PS line.

Yes, you need the pump and bracket from the DOHC engine. You mount the reservoir on the driver side strut tower (where it normally goes for the DOHC).

Easy as pie.

Well yea if you want to go bending lines and stuff but I am an anal SOB so I would rather just get the right stuff to begin with. F.Y.I. all 240 PS reservoirs are mounted on the drivers strut tower.
