noob question: air/fuel mixture screw?

my car is running rich.. waaay too much gas. but where the crap exactly is the mixture adjust screw? 90 5 speed. im tweakin what i THINK is it but nothins happening.. total noob questyion i know, but help anyway

i don't think there is a screw. the computer is supposed to take care of the air/fuel mix.

hmm. well i wrecked the car over the summer and had to get a new ecu actually. not NEW but a sourced one in good condition. since then the cars had trouble starting. it takes 3 - 5 mins to start and when it does start you can smell gas. there has to be a way to adjust the mixture.. or im screwed

You're tweaking the idle adjust screw probably. You should probably play with that to make your idle right again, since it's probably wrong at this point.

FI engines don't have mixture screws, that's a carburetor thing. Sounds to me like your MAF is screwed, or your injectors are leaking really badly. That's mainly what can cause a rich condition in a FI car.
