This week Ill be getting a 98 240 sx. What is a good aftermarket set of struts with the perfect blend of comfort and performance? How is the stock setup? Ive had tockio illuminas on one of my maximas and absolutely loved them. Is there anything like that for a 240? Since im in northeast ohio, im not even thinking of lowering the car.

he said comfort and performance. i dont think that counts for coilovers.

IMO everyone has different opinions on comfort and performance. Go take a drive in peoples cars with different setups. I find my 240 with AGXs and Teins, turned up to max stiffness still comfortable while my gf andmost people ***** about the ride.

if your not really crazy on performance, and depending on your budget look at the AGX and some springs. It also depends how low you want to go, personally i dont think tein stechs are low enough, but its not bad. AGX's go from stock, to 10% stiffer, all the way to 110% stifer i believe. Search for the stiffness percentages based on each setting. Stechs are also linear which makes it a bit less harsh

if you dont want to lower it you might as well look into nismo s-tunes...not really stiff and they only lower the car like 3/4 of an inch

other than that theres softer springs but theyll all lower the car more, which really wont be as big of a problem as you think, and there are softer rates to increase the comfort side more

hell ive been driving on coilovers now for 15,000 miles and i find them comfy now, i find other setups mushy...

yeah you do have to adjust the way you drive, theyre not good if you like to jump RR crossings and stuff, but they dont take long to get used to and once you do i think theyre fine

Hey Jonathan, welcome to NICO! I moved your thread into the correct forum. There is a ton of information located in the stickies at the top of the forum.

To answer your question, one of the most popular struts for the s-chassis car is the KYB AGX. They are adjustable and are compatible with lowering springs if you ever do decide to lower it. You can actually use a set of performance springs such as the Eibach Pro Kit w/o radically lowering the car. It will drop it about 1.2" or so and give you a nice performance enhancement w/o sacrificing driveability, even in your region of Ohio.
