The silvia front end conversion you mean. Yes those will bolt onto the fastback models. Those are called sileighties since 180 back end and silvia front end. You would need hood, bumper, fenders, headlights, headlight brackets, and the bumer support (optional). It's not hard to do, but will cost you quite a bit. I see them go typically for about 1k although you can shop around for a better deal and find them for 800 pretty often.

First off welcome to Nico but you should really search. It's the button at the top of the screen. But I'm bored so what the hell. If you are reffering to the the front end similair to mine in my sig then that is an S13 Silvia front end. They came on Japanese S13 coupes (Silvias) and were later adopted for use on hatchbacks (Sil-eighties) As for S13 it reffers to the chassis code and therefore is used in reffering to either. When it come to the conversion it will usually run you around $950. A complete set will include fenders, hood, headlights, turn signals, bumper, center grill, and headlight brackets. It shouldn't take a novice more than a couple of hours to do with the simplest of hand tools. It's pretty much self explanatory once you start taking stuff apart.

the conversion would be the same on a (trunk) modes, as on the hatchback... im still a little confused about what they are called.. fastback...or whatever... did the hatchback's ever come with the silvia front end or was it just the trunk models? sorry for the noob kinda question im used to honda terminoligy....and im guessing the conversion is allong the same lines as the jdm type-r congersion on an integra?

the Silvia was the coupe, or trunk model as you call it.

JDM hatch was the 180SX and still had flip ups.

but uh yeah, I think the conversion was pretty straighforward, maybe some of the guys that did will give input, and if they already did, I'm sure they know I'm teh stoopids.

Mugen2Nismo.........

That's a cool name! It's funny because I am a big Nismo guy and my good friend Luke is a big Honda/Acura guy who is just starting to get interested in modding his car; a 2001 Integra GS-R.

We have decided that we will help each other with our various front end conversions......his ITR and my Silvia. The problem now is just waiting for the parts. I plan on doing it with factory new stuff (available at http://www.phase2motortrend.com) and a carbon fiber hood. While he has to wait just because the ITR swap is EXPENSIVE!

Good luck with your 240 and welcome to NICO!

As far as your question about a hatchback ever coming with a silvia front end. Yes they actually did but for a very very limited amount that of which were sold quickly and mostly to collectors. They were called as i am sure everyone knows, SilEighty. As far as the years it came out, i would like to say 94 or so but i very well could be wrong seeing that i am far from an expert.
