This is my first 240.. so excited, ready to get down and dirty.. was very patient and found a pretty rough body (who cares..) but a running ka24de 95 se for $550.00.. just got it home yesterday

We are gonna boost it, and when I say we I mean my roomate and I. He swaps motors all day long and works wonders with ecu's and tuning them right out of our garage.. BUT.. with HONDA motors and ecu's, this will be his first 240 to work with also.. Here's the crazy question..

He is bound and determined to figure out a way to run this car with a honda computer.. so he can have full control of fuel and boost.. Has anyone ever heard of such absurdities?? How crazy are we??

Why?A tuned ecu for a 240 will let you control boost.Welcome to NICO and congrats on your 240. There is plenty of info here to search through. This forum has the best search of any you will find, as long as you use it.Run a search on stand alone vs piggy back vs tuned ecu.

If your friend knows how to tune a honda, swaping over to a nissan isnt going to be much different. Most tuning systems are atleast similar, so if you know one you can learn another one without to much of a problem. You could do MS, or Bikrom, or theres a new stock ecu tuning system thats sposed to be really nice. Also, theres a guy here who tunes ecu's for 135. At that price why go through the hassle, and wiring nightmare of using a honda ecu on a nissan.

Im sure it COULD be done, but it would be a huge pita.

How did you get a running 95 for 500 bucks? How rough lol, pics?

I picked it up off of a 17 year old kid.. was fed up with it I guess, he said it wouldn't run, that it needed a battery but even with a battery it wouldnt stay started.. he put on craigslist for $550.00!!! Needless to say I jumped all over it five minutes later.. called him up, drove over to Austin paid him, pushed it on my trailer and brought it home.. Picked up a new battery today at Napa, turned the key.. no start... so I open the gas cap and it was like a damn galactic black hole sucking everything into its empty cavity HAHA.. no gas, no oil.. so added that and it started, but it had like FOUR different vacuum leaks.. rigged up some hoses, started it.. purred like a kitten and idles fine at 500 rpm.. what an idiot.. the only thing that suck is that its an automatic and I really wanted to find a five speed but at 500 bucks, what the hell.. I can spend the money on a swap.. so if you know someone with everything I need to do a five speed swap, let me know.. I'll post some pics in a little bit!

Not drift, just a fun dd, and to the track every once in a while.. my boss is a track rat with a 47 willis that runs 10.50's, I'd love to spank his *** with a 4 banger..

Do you have a complete swap? Cause I've convinced I'm gonna have to piece it together from all different corners of the country.. lol

Do you mean the bearing in the driveshaft is shot?? If that's the case I might as well just get a new one.. I'm in San Antonio, I'll take the transmission off your hands for $80.00.

From what I hear.. Bikirom has fallen off the map. I hear nothing but bad things when it comes to the software.. That's why I don't even want to mess with having to rely on somebody else to tune my car.. All I have to do is morph the KA's distributor with a honda's and we're good to go.. No maf to worry about.. Then we can tune with Hondata all day long.. I think I want to get another KA with wiring harness though, put it on my engine stand and test it with that one first..
