Noob Help with some questions for G20 with SR20DE

I've browsed and browsed but i've not been about to find some information regarding my issues. I would really appriate some help.

BACKGROUND: '94 G20 with Jap. SR20DE put in about 500 miles ago. Which means there is NO setup for the EGR system.

Issues:1. IDLE: I think i got this one licked. The throttle cable was too tight and was causing a high idle 1500rpm+. I tweaked it today and it seems to be behaving better. But there seems to be a know TPS issue. Should i check this out as well?

2. CRUISE CONTROL: Right now the car doesn't have cruise control. The doesn't seem to be a place to hook up the CC cable to the throttle. Is there another throttle linkage that can be installed to get the Cruise to work?

3. POPPING NOISE: Some weird issue coming from the front right side of the car. I can't tell if it's a loose engine mount, axle, or wheel. Only does it after pushing in the clutch in either 1st or 2nd gear.

4. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT: Yeah, it's on. I've not pulled the codes yet, but that would probably bee a good idea. It could be in relation to not having the EGR system i guess. But i was wondering if an ECU replacement is another possibility?

5. AIR INTAKE. I believe this engine runs MAFT and NOT MAP. Is there a know aftermarket air intake that will fit the SR20DE in the G20?

I believe that all Jap. SRs are highport, which means that you'll want to look for a higport intake. You can do the cheap BOMZ ebay WAI or go for the real deal and get a Hotshot/Place Racing/AEM CAI. I've read good things about the HS and AEM, HS being the best though. AEM is the only manufacturer still making their highport CAIs, so that could limit choices too. HS might make thiers still, but I've heard lots of bad customer service things about them lately.

I doubt you can retrofit cruise to work.

You're getting codes for at least the EGR.

Without hearing the popping, it's hard to help much there.

The intake uses a MAF. I believe 240 kid is correct in saying all JDM SRs are highport. Look for a 91-94 Sentra SE-R intake. You may have to do a little work to fit it right, nothing difficult though.

While i'm here, i've also got a broken pass. indicator lamp for the front.

Right now it's clear. I don't know if that is aftermarket or not. Also, will Sentra body parts fit on the G20?

The G and the Sentra have a different chassis, so body parts are not swappable.

Yep, that's a highport.

It is possible that the EGR is throwing the CEL. But you need to pull the codes to be 100% sure. All JDM swaps I have done the no longer existent EGR doesn't throw a CEL. The pic of the motor you showed is a High Port setup, although that motor is a DET. You should be able to use an CAI/WAI setup for Highport SR. Fabricating one shouldn't be hard either. The popping sound you are getting might be a blown motor mount. Could also be a suspension problem too. As far as the cruise control, you should be able to fabricate the US bracket to fit on the JDM motor. I got it to work. After you installed the new motor, you should have checked MAF voltages, TPS voltages and set the timing.
