hi guys,

couple of questions, if i lower my car with the springs, am i able to put oem springs back (going back to stock height) afterwards? i am thinking of lowering it for summer and stock height for winter lol

another question, will oem shock wear out really fast/damaged with the lowered springs?

i did try using search, lots of springs topics but not really answering my questions, especially the first one lol

thanks guys

p.s new rims coming soon :lolling:

yes your able to go back to stock springs and yes it will wear your shocks down within time depending how you use your car. some people like me like to track their car so my shocks are worn down. my shocks wore down about 2 years after i got my eibach springs

okay so i recently ordered the eibach pro kit and am waiting for it to arrive. Just now im coming across people saying that once you drop your car it ruins your shocks. =/. I didnt think that a 1 inch drop would have that effect. My question is that if you get an alignment after a couple weeks or month, will i be okay??? also are my tires going to be wearing out uneven? if this is the case i probably wont install them and just sell them. Let me know guys thanks!!!

dropping your car an inch won't ruin your shocks, but it will make them wear out faster than if you were on stock springs. your tires will likely wear out unevenly if you drop your ride because dropping your car naturally makes your tires camber, but if you get an alignment after dropping the car, then it can usually fix any camber and keep your tires safe from wearing out unevenly, just make sure you drive around for a bit to let the springs settle in before you get the alignment done.

i am still able to go back to oem springs regardless of the slight modification during installation?

thanks for the quick reply! how much will it wear out compared to if i were to stay with the stock springs. Like how many years will shocks last with drop compared to not being droped. I appreciate you help. I just got a call that the springs arrived so i will be installing them this weekend.

If you guys are worried about the life of your OEM shocks, then why are dropping it? For me, I had mine for almost a year and it rode great with no ill effects to the shocks. IF you want to do it right, then get coil overs, if not Eibach makes a special shock that is in tune with the springs. I believe the whole setup is about $600 but at that amount, you might as well put out the extra 2 or 3 and get decent coilovers

u will not regret getting Eibach's. I too had reservation about shocks wearing out. I had pro-kits in my previous car for 5+yrs and never had to replace my shocks. Not only will ur AC look better, but the handling/driving will improve and it will still be comfy. Drive a month to let the springs settle, then take it to Firestone and get a lifetime alignment warranty.
