For those of us who HAVE read your build thread and seen the bond between you and your son, I for one enjoyed seeing this post. Knowing full well you would never take your son out to do anything reckless or stupid i see NO harm in learning and at the same time making the learning fun.

+1 Kudos For hanging out with your kid.+2 Kudos For taking the time to teach him, because you obviously care (hes lucky).+3 Kudos For making it fun for him.+4 Kudos For giving him some good memories to reflect on.

that's cause you live in MD. that's nothing. you know it snows good when you go into a parking lot and the piles of snow when they plow go above the roof.

i wont lie...i tried to "lose control" today in an open parking lot with some snow...but on my mom's 98 corolla lol. even if i countersteered the car would end up spinning out almost like doing a donut. i wish i had my 240 but i don't drive once it snows. (don't want the salt on the car + still got summer tires on)

anyway, hope you had fun...i'm too chicken to do it again though (don't want to clean the snow pile on the car in the street b/c i don't have a garage)

nice, thats a good amount of snow, if my car was running i'd be doing the same thing in a local parking lot. i know the owner and his son. he doesn't care as long as you don't slide near the building

wow to the keep it on the track comments. give me a break its snowing whats he going to do, learn what to expect from snow driving at a track? i did the same as them when i got my 240 i rather start sliding in a parking lot and learn what to do than on a road or hill and slid into a ditch.

Honestly, I'm surprised you were able to move at all. If I get caught in that much snow I'm not going anywhere.

I have never bought snow tires... ever, such a waste of money. Honestly have never needed them, do however need an LSD.

^^

You haven't driven in real snow then.

Snow drifting in parking lots is lame. No risk, no reward. It's funner when you have a course to follow it though.

Meaning some nice winding roads ZOMG keepitonthetrack patrol is here.

Btw, they groom the snow on the tracks up here so people can drive on them. lol.

Honestly, I'm not afraid to admit I snow drift on the streets if it's late enough and no one is around. If I'm all alone I'll give it some gas around corners to pull the tail out, and I'm not going more than 20 mph tops. Nothing too dangerous or anything, so don't even bother making a negative comment. Then again I have all seasons with little grip left and my car will even slide at less than 5 mph if there's enough snow, so sometimes it's not even an option to not do a little drift every now and then. I don't even try but then I just counter it and keep it under control.

In terms of all out drifting, obviously the streets aren't a safe place, but when it comes to gentle snow drifting/sliding, the OMG KEEP IT TO THE TRACK comments are just lame. Everyone has a little fun in the snow with RWD; don't pretend like you haven't/wouldn't either.

keep it on the track...lmfao. i did the same thing last night for about 30 minutes, i plan on doing it again asap. we have this long *** empty parking lot with no traffic nearby. i actually learned how to use the ebrake and clutch vs powerslide. i can see the fun in this drift. i wish we had a track here.
